Raised in Connecticut, Psifire was disowned by her Congressman father when she turned out to have mutant abilities. This has all but destroyed her self-image; she misses her family and wishes that she could live a normal life. She likes the bio-sciences and wants to be a vetrinarian (she also loves horses). She has adopted her classmates at the academy as a sort of "new family".
