    EXPLANATION :  A structural engineer and metallurgist specializing in the effects of sonic vibrations upon materials, Franklin was retained as an expert witness by the prosecution during the trial of Victor Stewart.

    EXPLANATION :  A D'Kai of the Clan Em'Rahn, and friend to Perseus. Amongst those rescued by the group from the clutches of the Ophidian Republic.


    ENTRY       :  ANNE-MARIE, SISTER
    EXPLANATION :  Sister Anne-Marie is another of the associates and hatchet-men of the mysterious Cardinal. Has been described as a "she-devil with a rosary".

    EXPLANATION :  The Greek Goddess of Wisdom, War and Crafts, Pallas Athena apparently manifested before the group within the Temple of her "sister", Artemis. Negotiated for the future of the Valley of the Blessed with Templar, who claimed to represent "The Source" in the affair. Responsible for returning the group to their plane of existence after brokering a deal which prolonged matters by "a year and a day".

    ENTRY       :  BAKER, BUDDY
    EXPLANATION :  A former special effects / demolitions tinkerer (who still consults for an FX company) but primarily works on stunt vehicles (steady job), Buddy is the brother-in-law of Dan Gerard. His family (who live in the 'burbs) consists of his wife, Ellen, and children, Cliff and Maxine. Only member of Dan's family to know of his alternate ego, Buddy has helped cover for him in the past.


    ENTRY       :  BAKER, CLIFF
    EXPLANATION :  Rebellious teenage son of Buddy and Ellen. Nephew of Dan Gerard.


    ENTRY       :  BAKER, ELLEN
    EXPLANATION :  Sister of Dan Gerard (whose secret identity is not known to her), Ellen is an illustrator for children's books. Married to Buddy and mother to Cliff and Maxine.


    ENTRY       :  BAKER, MAXINE
    EXPLANATION :  Waifish daughter (just starting school) of Buddy and Ellen. Niece of Dan Gerard. Her favorite band is A-Street.


    ENTRY       :  BELAPHOR
    EXPLANATION :  The mysterious head of a secret religious order in Rio des Madrona tasked with locating The Scarlet Robe, as well as keeping safe certain other mystical threats. Was the unwilling host (at the behest of Templar, to whom he apparently owes some form of allegiance) to a hunted Knights of the Coast for a few days.


    ENTRY       :  BENTON, DR. PETER
    EXPLANATION :  An ER surgeon on staff at Sacred Heart Hospital, Dr. Benton was called upon by the defense during the trial of Victor Stewart to testify as to Victor's condition as at the end of the Injustice For All affair. Dr. Benton was also one of the Bachelors auctioned to support the Blake Foundation's charitable campaign.


    ENTRY       :  BIGBOUTÉE, DR. JOHN
    EXPLANATION :  A member of PAC, and assistant to Dr. Lizardo. Served as the link that joined the Knights and Minute Men for their raid upon The Citadel, the base of the Justice Machine.

Since the enfolding of PAC into F.O.R.C.E., Dr. Bigboutée was retained by that organization as an "Exotics Consultant", bringing with him a wealth of experience, knowledge, and a support staff from his years with the PAC foundation. He has already recieved various death threats and accusations of being a Judas to the metahuman community. His former superior Dr. Emile Lizardo (still at large) is reported to have made many comments on this action being a breach of ethics (Lizardo also made reference to Bigboutée’s ancestry and other remarks unfit for print). Bigboutée’s reply to all this hostility has been that he is merely trying to do what he can to work towards a better understanding of metahumanity and the relationship Exotics have to society.


    ENTRY       :  BLACK, ARCHBISHOP FRANK
    EXPLANATION :  Archbishop Frank Black is the head of the diocese of Coast City. He was the person into whose care the unholy blade Bane was briefly entrusted. Resides at Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral.

    ENTRY       :  BLEYS, BROTHER
    EXPLANATION :  Brother Bleys (along with Brother Spike) is one of the associates and hatchet-men of the mysterious Cardinal.

    ENTRY       :  BOWER, DR. MARCEL
    EXPLANATION :  Dr. Bower is the current director of The Emile F. Chopin Home for the Criminally Insane.

[In the group's original timeline, their investigation of the ruins of this asylum led them to encounter a ghost named Marcel, who described himself as "the Caretaker", and which may have been that timeline's version of this man. He attempted to dissuade people from damaging the establishment.]

    ENTRY       :  BRADY, GREG
    EXPLANATION :  Greg ("Tiger") Brady is the noted archaeologist who inadvertantly uncovered the tomb of the Dark Paladin, Trelayne. This fact came to light when his presentation at the Metropolitan was interrupted by an attack by Nightforce and the resurrection of that particular villain. Luckily, "Tiger" survived the chaos of that event and can continue to pursue his chosen career.

Dr. Brady was also peripherally involved in the business involving the statue of Coatlicue, having been sent to investigate its passage through customs by the Seattle Museum of History.


    ENTRY       :  BURTON, SENATOR ROBERT (D-NY)
    EXPLANATION :  One of the Senators who participated in the trial of Captain Thunder for his actions during the March Crisis (and was briefly kidnapped by the villains responsible for raiding said trial). Appointed to the The Overwatch Committee.

Present for the attack upon the Capitol Building by the forces of The Industrial Revolution in early-July, 2004. Escaped with no more than minor injuries.

    ENTRY       :  CANE, SUTTER
    EXPLANATION :  A famous horror novelist whose works have been accused of causing insanity in certain of his readers. Recently vanished without a trace.


    ENTRY       :  CARDINAL, THE
    EXPLANATION :  The Cardinal acts as one of the primary operatives of the Catholic Church in matters concerning the Mystic Arts. He oversaw the protection of the Unholy Sword, Bane and recruited Sub-Zero to help keep it safe when it's recovery was attempted by Nightforce. Employs a number of hatchet-men, including Brother Bleys, Brother Maynard, Brother Spike and Sister Anne-Marie.


    ENTRY       :  CHAYKIN, SAMANTHA
    EXPLANATION :  The teenage daughter Heartbreak Studios executive A-Street. One of the major promoters behind the Valerie Chaykin. Attended the Rock Against Registration benefit concert and was fortunate to escape injury in the ensuing debacle.


    ENTRY       :  CHAYKIN, VALERIE
    EXPLANATION :  Head of Heartbreak Studios and tireless promotor of indie music (such as the groups Deadman, Spider's Kiss and Ladies of Dys) when she is not milking profits from such mindless pop as A-Street. One of the major promoters behind the Rock Against Registration benefit concert, where she courageously attempted to aid the true Knights by trying to break Templar out of his icy prison. Possesses extensive contacts amongst the entertainment and political elite of the country.


    ENTRY       :  CLAPTON, DEREK
    EXPLANATION :  Legendary guitarist and blues singer Derek Clapton has been an outspoken opponent of the Keene Act. One of the members of his band has a minor mutation (he's blue), and he has spearheaded a charity concert tour called Rock Against Registration intended to raise money to fight the Act. This tour drew a lot of publicity and then had the misfortune of being attacked by robotic Replicants (masquerading as the Knights of the Coast), with the intent of causing as large a body count as possible.



    ENTRY       :  CORRELLI, SYLVIA
    EXPLANATION :  Cousin of Marco DeSalvo and daughter of Angela. Lives in New York. Showed some possible romantic interest in Henry Hendersly when her cousin brought him unwillingly over to visit.


    ENTRY       :  CORTEZ, DR. JULIAN
    EXPLANATION :  Military-industrial conspiracy nuts claim this man to be the head of a shadowy Canadian organization known as S.E.A.R.C.H. Publically, he is known to be merely a governmental researcher with a focus on high-tech material science, particularly the rare metal known as omnium.

    EXPLANATION :  A house-sitter for the Silver Sorcerer. It is unknown whether Jeffrey is aware of "Mr. Sterling's" alter-ego.


    ENTRY       :  DAWSON, ALEC
    EXPLANATION :  A successful and handome actor, Alec gets the credit for a lot of hard, unsung behind-the-scenes work by Dan Gerard. Alec Dawson was one of the Bachelors auctioned to support the Blake Foundation's charitable campaign. Brother to the action star Rick Dawson.


    ENTRY       :  DAWSON, RICK
    EXPLANATION :  The younger brother of Alec, Rick is a successful actor on his own right, and the star of many action flicks.


    ENTRY       :  'DOCTOR, THE'
    EXPLANATION :  The shady 'doctor' retained by Lawrence Schexnayder to check into the condition of the fugitive Victor Stewart after his removal from the hospital. No name was given.

    ENTRY       :  FAIN, HARVEY
    EXPLANATION :  The Screaming Skull's cynical parole officer. Obsessed with proving that Victor has not, in fact, reformed, Harvey was the driving force behind his quick arrest and harassment during the Knights first tangle with The New Injustice Gang. He was called by the defense after maneuvering to cause Victor's arrest following the breakout at Stronghold, and became enraged when his nemesis was let off with little more than a slap upon the wrist.

Quote: "I'll see Stewart back in the hole if it's the last thing I do."


    ENTRY       :  FERRIS, STEVE
    EXPLANATION :  A celebrated test pilot and astronout, Steve is also a Coast City native and heir to the Ferris fortune. He was one of the astronauts aboard the Olympia during the crash and Bludgeon's subsequent attack. To make matters worse, the party to celebrate his recovery was raided by MAYHEM™.

Steve was also one of the Bachelors auctioned to support the Blake Foundation's charitable campaign (and was "bought" by his fiancee, Victoria Van Dorn).  ("Enjoys flying and Greek food; equally at home on the edge of adventure or on a quiet night in front of the fireplace. While his perfect date is already in attendance, for a good cause he will entertain as a gentleman ought.")


    ENTRY       :  FINN, AGENT RILEY
    EXPLANATION :  One of the Federal Agents (along with his partner, Agent Fixx) working in conjunction with F.O.R.C.E. to handle the interrogation and subsequent 'handling' of the Knights of the Coast in the aftermath of their capture. An expert in International Law and close combat, he has expressed interest in perky blondes and football.

Subsequent efforts to locate Agent Finn in the aftermath of the disaster in Rio des Madrona (and disappearance of Agent Fixx) proved unsuccessful.


    ENTRY       :  FIXX, AGENT
    EXPLANATION :  One of the Federal Agents (along with his partner, Agent Finn) working in conjunction with F.O.R.C.E. to handle the interrogation and subsequent 'handling' of the Knights of the Coast in the aftermath of their capture. An infiltration expert (amongst other classified specialties), he has been described as being "dry as week-old bread" and refused to divulge his (classified) first name.

Early into Operation Goody Goody Two Shoes, after the team had moved their operations to Rio des Madrona, Agent Fixx disappeared without a trace. Subsequent efforts to find out more about him once the Knights returned to Coast City revealed that there were no official records to be found which could verify his existence...

    ENTRY       :  GATES, GERALDINE
    EXPLANATION :  The wealthy owner of a sportswear manufacturing firm, Geraldine 'purchased' Phoenix during the Blake Foundation's charitable auction to seek out a possible sponsorship deal. Dogged by rumours of sweatshops.


    ENTRY       :  GAWAIN, SIR
    EXPLANATION :  The famed Arthurian Knight of the Round Table was one of the men accompanying Sir Trelayne when he returned to his castle in Days of Yore. His interaction with the group was (thankfully?) limited.


    ENTRY       :  GERARD, DELORES
    EXPLANATION :  Mother of Dan Gerard and Ellen Baker, and wife of Sam.


    ENTRY       :  GERARD, SAM
    EXPLANATION :  A retired mechanic, Sam is the father of Dan Gerard and Ellen Baker (whose husband, Buddy, is well-liked by Sam, who has known him since the kids were growing up), and husband of Delores. Harbors the belief that Dan is gay.

His political views have crystallized into strong support for the Keene Act and the CUAPV such that he was a vocal protestor at the Rock Against Registration benefit concert, where he unknowingly attacked his son (who would then go on to save his father when the elder Gerard nearly suffered a coronary incident). His father remained in hospital until early July.


    ENTRY       :  GOODSPEED, AGENT STANLEY
    EXPLANATION :  See Detailed Entry.


    ENTRY       :  GRANT, GIL
    EXPLANATION :  Gil Grant is the District Attorney that tried the case against Victor Stewart. Although he failed to convict Victor upon the most serious of the charges against him, he did secure a conviction for one count of escaping custody and one count of parole violations, but was outraged when the sentence for these crimes amounted to little more than a slap on the wrist.

Gil was also one of the Bachelors auctioned to support the Blake Foundation's charitable campaign.


    ENTRY       :  GREEN, DR. MARK
    EXPLANATION :  An ER surgeon on staff at Sacred Heart Hospital, Dr. Green was called upon by the defense during the trial of Victor Stewart to testify as to Victor's condition after his imprisonment at the hands of The New Injustice Gang.

Dr. Green was also one of the Bachelors auctioned to support the Blake Foundation's charitable campaign.


    ENTRY       :  GREEN, SYLVIA
    EXPLANATION :  The rich socialite and sometime dabbler in the occult who owned the estate that would later become the Emile F. Chopin Home for the Criminally Insane. After a seance went astray (back in 1939) and resulted in her soul being absorbed into another plane (and formed into the strange cloudlike entity Korras, she (and all her similarly affected guests) was unknowingly rescued by the group.


    ENTRY       :  GREENWALD, CHAD M.
    EXPLANATION :  Formerly the hired skipper of a fighing-boat rental service, Chad was fired from his job after the Knights commandeered a boat from him to assault the island lair of The New Injustice Gang. Callously thrown overboard by Phoenix, he was brought to shore safely by Cipher. Later was used to discredit Phoenix when the latter testified before the special Commission that looked at Paranormal Affairs during the March Crisis.

    ENTRY       :  HILLARY, DR. PETER
    EXPLANATION :  The scientist liberated from the cells of the Industrial Revolution, Dr. Hillary proved (under mental domination) to have been an employee of Duchess Industries where he was an expert in robotic intelligences. He had been recently pulled out of retirement by the government to head up the development of the A.I. that would drive the "Enforcer Battle Program". Identified and captured by the machine entities behind the Industrial Revolution, he had been subject to some sort of interrogation but lacked any conscious memory of it. Was unwillingly made to accompany the Knights as they went into hiding.


    ENTRY       :  HOP SING
    EXPLANATION :  The manservant/bodyguard of Empire Club founder Ulysses Quest, circa 1939.


    ENTRY       :  HOWARD, GENERAL JAMES E.
    EXPLANATION :  General Howard was the man who recruited the Knights on behalf of the State Department in order to investigate the disappearance of a research team in the Arctic that led to their run-in with the Brood.

General Howard appeared before Congress to testify about the March Crisis and courageously spoke up on behalf of extranorms, despite the prevailing political climate.

After the group was taken into custody in the aftermath of the machine plot to overthrow the U.S., he attempted to mediate an agreement between F.O.R.C.E. and Phoenix that would see the latter 'forgiven' his criminal breaches in exchange for being reamalgamated with Trey Parker. Although Phoenix categorically refused this offer, General Howard and a few other Top Men continue to hash out solutions to the Phoenix Security Issue.


    ENTRY       :  HUGHES, CPL. JAMES
    EXPLANATION :  Corporal Jimmy Hughes was one of the members of the CCPD involved in the arrest of Victor Stewart. He was called upon by the defense to testify during the latter's trial.


    ENTRY       :  HUTCHINSON, OFFICER JERRY
    EXPLANATION :  Jerry 'Hutch' Hutchinson is a member of the CCPD's Exotic Response Unit. Easygoing and a fast-talker, Captain Whitmore often uses Hutch to run interference with the public, press, or police bureaucracy.

    EXPLANATION :  The wife of Sir Trelayne, it was her death in the original timeline that sparked his Fall. Now saved by Oberon's great sacrifice, it remains to be seen what effect this has upon the timeline.

    EXPLANATION :  One of the followers of the mysterious Belaphor. Templar believes that he will inevitably betray his Order and need to be dealt with, when time allows.

    EXPLANATION :  A researcher for Multi-Spectral Scanning Labs. Amongst those caught up when a research accident at that lab caused the accidental summoning of the daemonic entity known as Frostbite. Mysteriously vanished in the aftermath of that business.

    ENTRY       :  JOHNSON, MICHAEL
    EXPLANATION :  A former actor and all-around celebrity, Michael shared the co-hosting duties at the Blake Foundation's charitable auction with Janey Slater, upon whose behalf he did the dubious service of 'buying' Sub-Zero. Guest speaker at the ill-fated Rock Against Registration benefit concert.


    ENTRY       :  JONES, SENATOR JONATHON J. (R-TN)
    EXPLANATION :  This Southern Senator also takes a very grim view of extranorms and supports Senator Keene's proposed legislation. Participated in the Commission that looked at Paranormal Affairs and that which tried Captain Thunder for his actions during the March Crisis.

Quote: "These mutants are abominations in the eyes of God!"


    ENTRY       :  JONKHEER
    EXPLANATION :  Jonkheer "One-Horn" was a Triceraton rescued by the group from the clutches of his kinsmen. Opposed to the martial policies of the Ophidian Republic, he advises the D'Kai about their abilities and tactics.


    ENTRY       :  JUSPECZYK, SALLY
    EXPLANATION :  Media Relations Expert for Crucible Inc. Briefly kidnapped by Nighforce during the Midnight Son affair, she was rescued by Oberon during the team's final assault. With the demise of Edward Blake, she briefly continued to handle the PR for the Knights of the Coast before resigning that position to pursue an opportunity in Washington D.C., where she is involved with a special interest group called The Exotic Legal Foundation.

    ENTRY       :  KAZANSKI, TOM
    EXPLANATION :  Tom ('Iceman') Kazanski is the self-proclaimed head of the Sub-Zero fanclub, and has maintained a website and bulletin board in honor of that hero for some time. His biggest moment of personal happiness came during the battle at the Strongpoint Temporary Holding Facility (where he had been protesting as a supporter of the Knights), when Sub-Zero promised him that he could become the hero's sidekick once he learned to juggle. (?!?)

Iceman was also present at the ill-fated Rock Against Registration benefit concert where he suffered a broken ankle while trying (or so he claims) to take down what he called 'an evil robot dude'.


    ENTRY       :  KEENE, SENATOR ROBERT (R-CA)
    EXPLANATION :  The influential Senator for California, Robert Keene has been outspoken on the paranormal question. He despises extranormals, and has pressed for a series of legislations that harshly punishes "masked vigilantes". Favours the mandatory registration of all individuals with extraordinary abilities combined with a set of measures to control and deal with such (collectively known as the "Keene Act").

During the March Crisis, Senator Keene chaired a special Commission that was intended to address the status of extranorms in the U.S.

Present for the attack upon the Capitol Building by the forces of The Industrial Revolution in early-July, 2004. Was rescued by Lady Liberty after having suffered moderate injuries (including being the target of a point-blank blast from Psiborg).

Quote: "We must know who they are. And above all, we must know what they can do."


    ENTRY       :  KENNEDY, JUSTICE ANTHONY M.
    EXPLANATION :  Justice Kennedy was the presiding judge in the trial of Victor Stewart. Although the latter was found guilty of one count of escaping custody and one count of violating his parole, Justice Kennedy awarded him a peculiarly light sentence.


    ENTRY       :  KILGORE, EUGENE
    EXPLANATION :  'Gene' Kilgore is the hardware expert at Sirenos Inc.. He was called upon by the prosecution to testify against Victor Stewart regarding the latter's work habits and secretive nature.

    ENTRY       :  KOVACS, SYLVIA
    EXPLANATION :  Deceased, 1997. A former girlfriend of Edward Blake (aka Crucible), Sylvia met a tragic end at the hands of Dr. Cyclops during one byzantine plot. After her death, Crucible began to respond with considerable ruthlessness towards any who sought to hurt him through his associates.


    ENTRY       :  KULKAN
    EXPLANATION :  A slave belonging to the Amazons of the Valley of the Blessed whose tattoos and piercings mark him as once having been Toltec. Encountered during the ill-fated feast.

    ENTRY       :  LANE, SENATOR RUTH (D-SD)
    EXPLANATION :  Another participant in the Commission that looked at Paranormal Affairs during the March Crisis. Appears to be cautiously supportive of the Keene Act. Also, an unforgiving voice within the committee convened to try Captain Thunder for his actions during the March Crisis

Present for the attack upon the Capitol Building by the forces of The Industrial Revolution in early-July, 2004. Was rescued by Lady Liberty after having suffered moderate injuries.

Quote: "We already live amidst an atmosphere of fear, in case you haven't noticed, Mr. Phoenix."


    ENTRY       :  LARSON, GARY
    EXPLANATION :  'Jag' Larson is the Software and Computer Services expert at Sirenos Inc.. A consultant, he works odd hours.


    ENTRY       :  LEE, STEPHANIE
    EXPLANATION :  A reporter for Channel 6 News who occasionally also does print pieces within the Coast Chronicle newspaper. Specializing in salacious exposés, she has initiated a number of stories critical of the Knights. Assigned to cover the incident at Multi-Spectral Scanning Labs in mid-April, 2001, which coverage led to a clash between her and Templar which has given rise to a lawsuit and restraining order.

Stephanie has also revealed herself to be no friend to the other Knights when she pilloried Sub-Zero (implying he was gay) and by her coverage of the battles at the docks (which has also triggered a lawsuit against Sub-Zero for sexual assault) and at the benefit concert.

In early July, 2001, Stephanie was the victim of a hit-and-run 'accident', and seriously injured. She is expected to recover.

    ENTRY       :  LIZARDO, DR. EMILIO
    EXPLANATION :  A PACF representative for the California region, Dr. Lizardo met with Crucible and Oberon after the melee surrounding the crash of the space shuttle.

Addressed the special Commission concerning the "paranorm question" during the March Crisis and begged to have funding for his agency increased. He lobbied unsuccessfully against the passage of the Keene Act.

In the wake of the passage of that legislation in early April, 2001, federal funding for PACF was pulled, and a court order obtained to pull it's files and personnel under the umbrella arm of F.O.R.C.E.. Dr. Lizardo flouted this order and arranged for the destruction of a number of the files belonging to the California branch of PAC. He is now on the run as a wanted fugitive. He is also reported to be attempting to care for a greviously ill Perseus and is believed to be attempting to leave the country with the aid of unknown exotics.

    ENTRY       :  LONG, MALCOM
    EXPLANATION :  Former Mayor of Coast City. Now retired, dogged by unproven accusations of influence-peddling.

    ENTRY       :  MANNING, DR. KARL
    EXPLANATION :  A researcher for Humanidyne Industries, Dr. Manning has been the key figure in Project Myriad. He has in his care the suspended forms of Tribunal, and has been working to try to keep Phoenix stable. He was kidnapped by Dr. Cyclops during the abortive attempt to use Project Myriad technology to revive Dr. Cadmus Orlac.

Kidnapped again at the height of the March Crisis by an assailant who trashed his house in the suburbs and left the flaming message "Vengeance" in his wall. Although rescued by Phoenix, not long thereafter it was discovered that his body was somehow housing the soul of the demented Dr. Cyclops. Manning (or at least the madman using him as a shell) is currently at large.

    EXPLANATION :  The mysterious man toting a guitar case full of guns whose quest for vengeance against the Mustaccio Cartel would run afoul of the Knights of the Coast during their mission into Rio des Madrona. Patron of "Steve-O". Briefly held Hazardman at gunpoint while determining what had happened to his arsenal.

    EXPLANATION :  The current head of the CCPD, Chief Mason isn't fond of having "superweenies" and "rogue vigilantes" running amok in his City. He was engaged in a longstanding attempt to have Crucible stripped of his powers, tolerated the presence of Tribunal, and has otherwise resisted the attempts of the Knights of the Coast to gain official standing in the area.

    EXPLANATION :  Brother Maynard is another of the associates and hatchet-men of the mysterious Cardinal. His specialty is hardware and arsenal.

    ENTRY       :  MCKENZIE, LELAND
    EXPLANATION :  A senior partner at the Coast City law firm of McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak, Leland was the head of the defense team retained by Lawrence Schexnayder to defend Victor Stewart during his trial for conspiracy. Leland's efforts were mostly successful, and he managed to finagle a sentence that amounted to little more than a slap on the wrist when his client was found guilty of one count of escaping custody and one count of violating his parole.

    EXPLANATION :  Unsuccessfully tried to argue that larceny charges against him should be dismissed because he was under "mental control" when he committed the crime. A precedent-setting case.

    EXPLANATION :  An anthropologist encountered amongst the Amazons of the Valley of the Blessed. Unwilling to try to assist the group, claiming "scientific detachment". Was killed by the Furies after being suspected of involvement in the murder of Queen Hespera.

    EXPLANATION :  A member of the CCPD, Sgt. Meadows is assigned to the lockup at the docks where supervillains are help in preparation for transport to Stronghold. He is not too fond of his assignment, but didn't avail himself of Edward Blake's offer of a security position in before the latter's death.

    EXPLANATION :  Largely regarded as the political mastermind within President Stone's administration, VP Melchett is an ambitious, driven man with a zeal to 'improve' society.

    EXPLANATION :  Deceased, 1992. Former Police Chief of Coast City, now deceased. Rumours of corruption and bribe-taking forced his resignation. He died, apparently of suicide, a year later.

    EXPLANATION :  One of the FBI Special Agents (along with SA D. Scully assigned the task of interrogating the captured supervillain Norris MacReady and performing the debriefing of the Minute Men after Operation: Chicken Coop.

    EXPLANATION :  One of the more important of the personages within the ruthless Mustaccio Drug Cartel in Rio des Madrona. Nephew to the Cartel leader Ramon Mustaccio.

    EXPLANATION :  The head of Naoko Industries, Sato Naoki has been described variously as ruthless, traditional, morally corrupt, intelligent and as a meticulous planner who acts as though he can control the world. Those who talk to him notice that he seems very humble and subtle. Linked somehow to the mysterious background of Hikaru Himura.

    EXPLANATION :  One of the officers captured during the raid upon of MAYHEM's submersible known as the Nostromo during the initial stages of Operation Face-Off.

    EXPLANATION :  The warden of Stronghold. Has cooperated with the Knights of the Coast on a number of occasions, though the exploitation of this by certain members of that group and their lack of official authority does tie his hands to some degree. Fred testified on behalf of Victor Stewart at his trial.

    EXPLANATION :  Dr. Okun is one of the criminal psychologists stationed at the Stronghold Correctional Facility. It was his prognosis that was key to Victor Stewart's parole from that facility, and he later testified on behalf the defense at the latter's trial.

    EXPLANATION :  This wizened D'Kai of the Clan Em'Rahn was amongst those rescued by the group from the clutches of the Ophidian Republic. Although blind, he possesses certain mental powers which more than make up for this handicap.


    ENTRY       :  O'ROARKE, OFFICER SOLEDAD
    EXPLANATION :  A young police officer who has recently joined the CCPD as part of the Exotic Response Unit, Soledad is a self-described BAMF (Bad-Assed Mother F*cker) with a serious hate on for Exotics. She was involved to some extent in the battle between the Knights of the Coast and F.O.R.C.E. when she attempted to bring Sub-Zero into custody.

    EXPLANATION :  The anonymous oracle called upon to answer questions about the group's involvement in the murder of Queen Hespera, amongst the Amazons of the Valley of the Blessed.

    EXPLANATION :  Deceased, 1996. Originally a brilliant researcher in the area of artificial life research (primarily inexpensive synthetic organ replacements). He was an employee at Humanidyne Industrial for several years before learning that continued exposure to these substances were leading to an incurable, and ultimately fatal cellular deterioration. Driven mad by this revelation, he turned his genius to the secret of immortality. Using his Synthezoids, he committed several felonies including kidnapping, theft, and attempted murder (in a bid of revenge against Humanidyne CEO Phillip Porter for his condition). In his final clash with the Hero Collective Orlac met his end when caught in the fireball of his own Phoenix Device.

    EXPLANATION :  This soft-spoken Senator participated in the Commission that looked at Paranormal Affairs and that which tried Captain Thunder for his actions during the March Crisis. Takes a balanced view of Senator Keene's proposed legislation. Viewed as one of the future powerhouses of the Democratic Party.

Present for the attack upon the Capitol Building by the forces of The Industrial Revolution in early-July, 2004. Was rescued by Bishop and Lady Liberty of the Minute Men after having suffered moderate injuries and briefly been used as a hostage by the Replicant StarSeed.

    EXPLANATION :  The manipulative CEO of Humanidyne Industrial, a local biocorp and government contractor. He is tied into the origin of Tribunal /Phoenix and has been targeted for vengeance by both Dr. Cadmus Orlac and his brother Dr. Cyclops.

Phil Porter was also one of the Bachelors auctioned to support the Blake Foundation's charitable campaign, and fetched the greatest sum in fierce bidding from the socialites, an unbelievable $50,000. ("A man of great charity and a supporter of the sciences, proud of his skill as a pianist.and chef. A perfect date would include a night on the Riviera and dinner on his private yacht.")

    EXPLANATION :  Self-appointed Presidente of Rio des Madrona, who assumed control of that nation amidst the chaos surrounding the secession of former Presidente Jorge Perez. Ruthless and vindictive, he rules with an iron fist and is widely believed to be in the pockets of the drug cartels.

    EXPLANATION :  The owner of the Empire Club and host of the Gentlemen's Adventurers Society. Son of the original founder of the Club, Ulysses. Like his grandson, Max, Darius was known for being a bit of a daredevil when he was young,and built up quite the reputation during WWII, much of which remains classified.


    ENTRY       :  QUEST, MAXWELL
    EXPLANATION :  Grandson of Darius Quest. A rather well-known modern day adventurer / risk taker whose past deeds include snowboarding down K2, reaching the North Pole on foot, and a number of Human Fly stunts at an early age which landed him in some trouble with the law. Likes to challenge whatever borders he can.

In the alternate timeline of Amerika, Maxwell was the group's liaison with the resistance, and helped provide them with boltholes, fake IDs and as a guide to that dark realm.

    EXPLANATION :  "Diamond Joe" Quimby (Democrat) has been the Mayor of Coast City for 6 years. Dogged by rumours of corruption, alcoholism, and womanizing, Quimby remains inexplicably popular with the voters.

    EXPLANATION :  A freelance reporter for the Coast City Courier, Roth has an avid interest in the extranormal activity in the city, and has written a series of interviews with such local superheroes as Crucible, Tribunal, Hazardman, the Screaming Skull, and Templar. Gets on poorly with Chief of Police Hollis Mason. Was called upon by the defense to testify on behalf of Victor Stewart during that individual's trial.

After the incident at the Strongpoint Temporary Holding Facility where the Knights apparently went rogue, he published another interview wherein Templar attempted to explain the group's side of the story. An attempt at a subsequent exclusive interview amidst the chaos of Operation Face-Off was suppressed by the government for the "sensitive material" it supposedly contained.


    ENTRY       :  RICHMOND, SENATOR JOSEPH (R-NY)
    EXPLANATION :  The son of former Senator Ted Richmond, Joseph has followed in his father's career path and ideological footsteps. Senator Richmond is a strong supporter of the Keene Act. Formed part of the Commission that looked at Paranormal Affairs during the March Crisis.

Present for the attack upon the Capitol Building by the forces of The Industrial Revolution in early-July, 2004. Was rescued by Lady Liberty after having suffered moderate injuries (including being the target of a point-blank blast from Psiborg).

    EXPLANATION :  Former Senator who set the original mandate overseeing the Paranormal Affairs Commission in 1976. Supports the proposed limitations proposed by Senator Keene and actively lobbies on his behalf. Succeeded by his son. Lives on an estate in upstate NY with his staff and three dobermans (Lee, Harvey and Oswald).

Kidnapped by the Vicious Circle as part of a plot to waylay the Freedom Brigade. He was eventually released after that goal had been achieved, stripped to his underwear, made up to look like a clown and branded with a 'VC' on his ass.

    EXPLANATION :  This unidentified flunky in the service of MAYHEM™ (who called himself the "Dungeon Master" whilst taunting the group) proved on of the most vexing and effective obstacles faced by the group while raiding the medical facility within the banana republic of Rio des Madrona. After unleashing traps and carnage upon the group, he successfully escaped their retribution - but not before taking out Black Blur with a leftover slice of pizza.

    ENTRY       :  SEXSMITH, DR. BRIAN
    EXPLANATION :  Dr. Sexsmith was the Criminal Psychologist called by the prosecution to testify against Victor Stewart during the latter's trial. Dr. Sexsmith was also one of the Bachelors auctioned to support the Blake Foundation's charitable campaign.

Has written a number of books about exotics, such as Thoughtcrimes in America and the recent release SUPEREGO: Inside the Exotic Mind. It appeals to the public sentiment and conspiricy theorists and is expected to reach the top ten before the month is out (helped in part by the everpresent television commercials and talk show appearances).

    EXPLANATION :  The wife of the gadgeteer Digitalis and the mother of Edward Blake (aka Crucible), Dolores died in a tragic lab accident while her son was very young.


    ENTRY       :  SKINNER, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR WALTER
    EXPLANATION :  The Assistant Director of the FBI whose overview includes paranormal crimes within the continental United States. Oversaw the interrogation of Norris MacReady that exposed details about the The Great Supervillain Contest and the debriefing of the Minute Men after Operation: Chicken Coop.


    ENTRY       :  SLATER, JANE
    EXPLANATION :  Actress and model, Janey was perceived by most to be the girlfriend of Edward Blake (aka Crucible) prior to his demise. Was assaulted by a jealous Lady Frostbite during the attack made by I.G.L.O.O. at the Planetarium.

Janey Slater also co-hosted the Blake Foundation's charitable auction (with Michael Johnson) and ended up co-purchasing Sub-Zero (against her will). She herself was auctioned off by a mischevious Sub-Zero and was "bought" by Phoenix (in a demonstration of unexpected financial reserves). She's not too fond of the frozen hero, for a number of reasons.

On September 5th, 2001, she became one of the innocent people seized and used as a hostage to try to ensure the success of MAYHEM's attack against the Santa Clara Skyway amidst the chaos of Operation Face-Off. Was rescued by the Knights of the Coast (in particular Phoenix).

    EXPLANATION :  The Federal Agent whose suspicious disappearance implicated Phoenix, causing the former Knight to become a fugitive pursued by F.O.R.C.E..

    EXPLANATION :  Andrew Snyder is the Principal at the Willard Fillmore High School. He was caught in the middle when the rally to thank the Knights of the Coast was crashed by The Outlaws. Luckily, he escaped the melee with only minor scrapes and contusions. Rest assured that this proponent of discipline and order will never invite any other superheroes into any school he manages!

    EXPLANATION :  A journalist (for the Coast City Courier), Alicia has managed to be in the wrong place on more than one occasion. She was briefly taken hostage by Pike when MAYHEM™ crashed a black tie soirée. Later, she drew the eye of the Dark Paladin and was abducted by him too, likely due to her uncanny resemblance to his lost love, the Lady Isabella. On yet another occasion, as the group fought the forces of the Unseelie Sidhe, it was revealed that she had once again been captured to serve as a pawn against Oberon, who continues the fight to regain her freedom...

    EXPLANATION :  Steve-O is associated in some fashion with the mysterious man known only as El Mariachi within Rio des Madrona. Keeps his ear open for information which may affect his compatriot's desire for vengeance.

    EXPLANATION :  The future father of Victor Stewart and husband of Rachel Wertzer stumbled on the plans of the Nazi Baron von Falkenberg even as WWII loomed on the horizon. As fractures threatened the time continuum (and the very existance of Victor Stewart), the group decided to enlist him in their trip through the Time Platform to thwart the plans of the Nazi agent and rescue Rachel from a dark and twisted version of the future.

    EXPLANATION :  After he originally rose to political prominence as director of the C.I.A., George Herbert Stone would later become the 41st President of the United States and father to current President George Walker Stone.     EXPLANATION :  Sub-Zero claims that Esmerelda has a "hot" daughter who was his actual date as a result of the charitable auction.     EXPLANATION :  Dan Totheroh is an aspiring playwright, and Executive Director of the struggling Brownstone Hall playhouse. He recently has mounted a production, the "Keystone Knights", which walks a fine line between slander and lampooning the group following the p.r. debacle of the Stewart trial. Dan was also one of the Bachelors auctioned to support the Blake Foundation's charitable campaign, and was snubbed by Phoenix as he sought additional publicity for his play in the aftermath of that event.

    EXPLANATION :  Jimmy ("Twitch") Twitchel is the assistant warden at Stronghold. With a nervous demeanor that suits his name, he has unwillingly acceeded to the wishes of the Knights on a few occasions.

    EXPLANATION :  Richard Van Dorn is one of the cultural elite of Coast City; rich, influential and well-connected. In addition to being a casual aquaintance of Edward Blake, Richard ("Don't call me 'Dick'.") has crossed paths with the group when his house was raided by the forces of MAYHEM, then again with Nightforce's destructive assault upon the Metropolitan Museum. They have helped the group out with the loan of an antique blade, and have launched fund-raisers to help the city recover from such disasters as the tidal wave. He is the husband of Regina, and the father of Victoria.


    ENTRY       :  VAN DORN, REGINA
    EXPLANATION :  Wife of the rich philanthropist Richard Van Dorn, Regina is one of the prime driving forces behind that family's charitable activities. She has a daughter, Victoria. She was also witness to the raid upon her home by the forces of MAYHEM, followed by Nightforce's destructive assault upon the Metropolitan Museum. Owner of the Montrose Stone.

    EXPLANATION :  The daughter of Richard and Regina Van Dorn, Victoria is the child of priviledge, born to walk the highest social circles of Coast City. She was present when the forces of MAYHEM descended upon her home. Girlfriend of astronaut Steve Ferris, whom she made sure to 'purchase' during the Blake Foundation's charitable auction.

    EXPLANATION :  When his attempts to develop a stealth device led inadvertantly to a machine capable of cloaking its users from time itself, Dr. Wertzer fled with his daughter, Rachel (future mother of Victor Stewart) to America. Pursued by the nefarious Baron von Falkenberg, his daughter was kidnapped to act as a hostage as the leader of the Waffen Ubersoldat sought to use the Time Platform to obtain a superweapon to be used in the imminent WWII. Rescued by the time-stricken Knights of the Coast, he aided them as they pursued von Falkenberg with the intent of saving the girl and thwarting his plans.


    ENTRY       :  WERTZER, RACHEL
    EXPLANATION :  Daughter of Dr. Wertzer (and subsequent wife of Detective Sean Stewart and mother of Victor Stewart). Kidnapped by Baron von Falkenberg to ensure the cooperation of the doctor as he tried to use the Time Platform to obtain a superweapon from a dark and twisted version of the future.

    EXPLANATION :  A freelance photographer with a remarkable history of success at capturing images of the Black Blur. Was slightly injured as an incidental casualty when the Knights fought the escaping supervillains and F.O.R.C.E. outside the dockside detention facility during their attempt to rescue Victor Stewart from the clutches of the Feds.

    EXPLANATION :  Owner of the Happy Fortune Chinese Restaurant. Caught in the midst of a battle between the Battosai and several members of a vicious local gang, the Twisted Dragons. Was too intimidated to press charges against the captured gang members, despite the extensive damage his shop received. This did not save him from having his restaurant torched later on, in order to strike against Battosai.
