BACKGROUND: 
Younger of the two remaining creations of Dr. Monroe. Since the destruction of the clan, Onyx and Pearl have traveled the land trying to escape the persecution from the people of the country. Strong fear, and anti-exotic sentiment have caused the two to be hunted like the animals they appear to be.

Their latest refuge has been Coast City, around the time that the Keene Act was passed. Amongst the first to register under that Act, they thought that would bring them a more harmonious life. It didn't but the two had long learned how to deal with those who would hunt or hurt them. Both outcasts work as labour in the warehouse district.

When the Knights of the Coast fell into disrepute and left a power vaccum in coast city, Onyx began to actively use his abilities in the warehouse section to keep their work and home safe.
