BACKGROUND: |
Originally an associate of Mortimer Blake (aka Digitalis), Lawrence found himself the guardian and trustee for the young Edward Blake when the latter's parents died. He parleyed the investment left in his care into the substantial corporation that is Crucible Inc., along with a number of spin-off firms such as Sirenos Inc.. Even after Edward reached his maturity, Lawrence remained responsible for the financial side of Crucible's activities, and helped the fledgling superhero build a name and reputation for himself. With the death of Blake, Lawrence has inherited controlling interest in Crucible Inc. (and remains its CEO), which is becoming a more straightforward multinational corporation. He also retains control of the Blake Foundation, although he has divested himself of any involvement in the Knights of the Coast Foundation or the activities of the Knights of the Coast themelves. |

- guardian of Edward Blake, and remained his financial advisor even after the latter reached maturity, acting as the CEO of Crucible Inc.. - also acted for a time as the CEO of Sirenos Inc., which made him the boss of Vicky Barlow and Victor Stewart (upon who's behalf he did testify at his trial). - had his office trashed by Tribunal/ Servo Mk I, then filled with breakfast cereal by Sub-Zero. - since the death of Crucible, Lawrence has slowly disentangled himself (and the businesses he controls) from any dealings with the Knights of the Coast, which culminated in him disavowing all involvement with them in the wake of the business with the robots. |
