KOTC Database Entry: HAZARDMAN
|
| QUOTE: | "I can take it!" |
BACKGROUND: |
INTERVIEW. A carpenter and stuntman in his mundane identity, Dan Gerard was drawn to become a superhero. He was accepted into the KotC by a distracted Crucible, after an unusual entrance exam which saw him leap from atop Millennium Tower and survive the plummet to the ground below. Since then, he has ably and enthusiastically supported the team. Lately, Dan's untimely and unexplainable absences have caused him some stress with his family, and they think that his relationship with the "Australian" Buzz Ripley (aka Perseus) might extend beyond mere friendship. Only his brother-in-law is privy to his secret, and tries to help cover for him. The city at large also believes that Hazardman is gay, thanks to the testimony of Sub-Zero during the trial of Victor Stewart. He has been fighting that perception ever since ("Not that there's anything wrong with being gay!"). Amidst the March Crisis, Hazardman went undercover using the pretext of having left the group to "go deep". This subterfuge was revealed by Phoenix when the group received a postcard from the 'former' Knight asking for assistance. He was found fighting aside the supervillain team The Outlaws, the apparent victim of some mental compulsion. He was overwhelmed with the changes to the group in his absence. |

Lacking much of an offence does not impede Hazardman's predilection for charging into the middle of a fray.
