News flashes in regards to the Rock Against Registration tour ============================================================= There has finally been confirmation that 'Heartbreak Studios' record executive Valerie Chaykin has gotten involved. Though the studio has had a reputation since the early 90s for mindless pop like A-Street, Chaykin has personally been involved in giving several indie groups their start. Some of the more memorable like Deadman, Spider's Kiss, and Ladies of Dys. When asked about her decision to back the RAR, Chaykin replied, "For me music has always been about going past the barriers people and society have set up. Music speaks to the heart. With the hate and violence dominating the media, I gladly welcome musicians seeking to call out a message of hope and acceptance." In related news, Rolling Stone interviewed Kurt Hamill and Lance Utrech of Damage Inc. Kurt (better known as Discord) had this to say about the current metahuman tensions. KM: Right, there was a time when could trash a hotel and album sales would triple overnight. Now since we've gotten all mutated they throw us in with all these freaks just for some minor property damage! Where's the justice in that! If you want to talk about crimes, what about all those frickin' little pukes downloading my music! And when I get outta here - (interview stopped as here as security proceeded to 'detain' Kurt) LU: Yeah, like Kurt said, there ain't no justice here. I mean, when do we get to be heard? I don't think no mister soft rock Derek elevator muzak man Clapton is going to know the pain of being an outcast. Any rock concert about metas had better include a REAL band that knows what its like. Yeah I hear he's got some blue guy but that's jack as far as I'm concerned. OOooh he's blue! Yeah like I'm impressed by that. Concerns continue to be voiced that the potential for violence at the concert will be beyond anything that any local law enforcement agency are willing or able to deal with. At the mention of FORCE being called in to maintain the peace, organizers said that such a overtly military presence would be a betrayal to the purpose of the whole cause.
