Well the auction went well, I have two dates lined up, one with Miss Jannie Slater, and one with Ms. Esmerelda Torrence. I was really impressed that I made $15,000 for charity. You know thats more than any of the other Knights Of The Coast (not suprisingly), and the only one who made more than me during the evening was Phil Porter who went for an astounding $50,000. Personally I think he paid someone to bid on him. Anyway, the date with Ms. Esmerelda Torrence went amazingly well. After the auction she came up to me and told me that she was really looking forward to introducing me to her 22 cats. Needless to say I was really scared to say the least. When someone offers to introduce you to their 22 cats most people would bolt, even if it was just to avoid the cat hair problems that would inevitably ensue. Luckily for the Knights Of The Coast I was feeling particularly heroic this fine evening, and was willing to "take one" for the team. We agreed to meet the next night at her house (I explained that she would have to drive because I was without wheels currently because my 1969 Shelby Mustang was destroyed by supervillans last week.) So I took the bus to 19926 Emerald Green Terrace in one of the ritziest portions of town, and wow was I ever intimidated, It was the biggest house that I had ever walked up to. I rang the doorbell expecting to inundated by the smell of cats and much to my surprise a goddess opened the door. Wearing an amazing little black dress, with legs that went on forever a 20 something bombshell came out onto the porch, with a little giggle put her arms around me and squealed "oh your so cute, were going to have so much fun tonight!" She grabbed my hand and pulled me into the house behind her. I was led into the living room and saw Ms. Esmerelda Torrence sitting with a comfortable looking chair with a single cat sleeping on her lap. Ms. Torrence, stood up and the cat hastily jumped off her lap and gave her a scornful stare. Ignoring the cat she came over and said "oh I see you have met my daughter Lucy. She doesnt get out much so I bought you for her, isnt he cute?" to which her daughter replied with a grin "I was just telling him how cute he was Mother." Now Im not spider man but how do I put this, something like my spider sense went off. I was thinking what is wrong with this girl, she has a body to die for and the most amazing giggle, why doesnt she get out much? Well to sum up the rest of the evening, it turns out she is really shy around men, but because I had to be there she was a total extrovert with me. We went out for dinner, went dancing, and then, well this is a PG-13 rated report so thats as far as the evening went. Was I scared for no reason or what? Oh it turns out that Ms. Esmerelda Torrence runs a shelter for cats that have been abused out of a downtown office building, and her daughter manages the place. I have promised to visit all 22 of the current residents next weekend.
