21/11/00: Plans for Christmas are proceeding apace.
I managed to track down that 1st edition I was looking for or Oberon, so there is but a few
other gift plans to set into motion. This Morning's Activities will take precedence, however.
Upon returning to the office this morning (from a meeting with the toy people), I found a
stranger awaiting me in the lobby of the building. This was a Young Lady, swathed in clothes
and veils such that no part of her was visible. She approached me and asked my help, so I
invited her up and brought her into the elevator where she proceeded to Disrobe! As it turns
out, this was nothing Purient, but an attempt to explain her problem; she had been rendered
Invisible to the Naked Eye (though my heat vision could see her normally)!
Vicky soon gave me a complete explanation. She had been a researcher at some sort of lab
complex until an act of sabotage had left her invisible and believed to be deceased. She
was desperate to investigate what had happened, and was hoping that my team could assist.
I quickly swung into action and arranged with Lawrence for her to be set up in the guest rooms
downstairs, and to have lab clearance to work with Victor at Sirenos. We decided to use the
cover that she was interested in becoming a Superhero, and she came up with a Handle; the
appropriate "Cipher". (Though her cover didn't last long within the Knights, as I forgot to
pass along the information about it to Victor.)
At any rate, she seems to have gotten settled quite nicely into a Temporary Lab, and provided
quite an extensive grocery list of Equipment she would need to Investigate her Situation.
22/11/00: Most of the group seems to be at loose ends for Thanksgiving
tomorrow. Have invited them all over for dinner, to be followed by a poker night. Have included
Vicky in this invite, as I thought it would be a good way to Introduce her to the Group.
23/11/00: The Poker Night was a Rousing Success!!! Everyone seemed to enjoy
themselves, and we got to see a different side of each other than the normal crisis-mode
personality. I don't think that I'll set much of what happened to paper (too personal), but I
will say that Victor makes a mean martini, we were all honored to be trusted with Hazardman's
true identity, and that Victoria developed a very quick aptitude for counting cards.
Note to self: talk to research folks in the morning regarding acquisition of some historic
item of scientific (physics) import as a Christmas present for Vicky. Also must retain a
private investigator to track down Victor's daughter as a present for him.
