ENTRY      :  Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah; we had just managed to get into Cyclops' cave complex with but seconds to go in a mysterious countdown, and were stymied by some forcefields keeping us from getting at the villain.

So there we were. The others began to tackle the second Servo, while I pulled myself to my feet (having been thrown through the front windshield during the collision with Bludgeon - remember to buckle up, kiddies!) and staggered towards the man trapped in the forcefield, shaking my ringing head. He was trapped beyond my capacity to do anything about it, as a couple of kicks at the forcefield proved. Tribu... err, Phoenix came up and began to bash at the field in my place, which allowed me a brief moment to look around. Behind me Sub-Zero and Laserette were double-teaming Servo, who was giving back as good as he got. Oberon, meanwhile, had his sword out but seemed to be looking wildly around for something I couldn't see behind the cover of the forcewall. I got the idea about what he was looking for mere seconds later as Phoenix slumped and dropped, the victim of a mind attack from an unseen opponent (later identified to me as probably being Stalker). There was also some sort of spider-like critter skittering about and raising havoc amongst my comrades.

At any rate there wasn't much I could do to get at Cyclops, and the spider thing was sticking to the roof, so I focussed my attention upon the one villain within reach. Seeing that Servo was hovering with his back to me not far away, i took the opportunity to jump for him and scramble up his back, even as he continued to take fire from Laserette and Oberon. What a ride, let me tell you! Servo was flying around and trying to scrape me off even as I attempted to cover his eyes - you'd still call robotic things like that 'eyes' wouldn't you? I got wrapped around his head pretty well, and attempted to use the Kirk ploy to take him out, but it seemed that this android was immune to illogical conundrums, alas. To keep him from targeting my comrades by sound, I began to sing loudly into his ears - some Rodgers and Hammerstein musical stuff; 'Oklahoma' if I remember correctly.

This pretty much tied me up for the rest of the fight, so I only have a few scattered recollections of what happened afterwards. With Servo out of the way, the others concentrated their efforts on the forcefield - in particular I remember Laserette firing bright blasty-things right at the trapped man - and broke through it pretty quickly. While they were smashing open the equipment and freeing the trapped hostages, they somehow set off a self-destruct mechanism like something out of a Bond movie. Oh, yeah and I remember Phoenix literally beating the crap out of that geezer Cyclops - this is a guy who can throw a tank, remember, and he was letting the mad scientist have it but good! At about this point, Servo managed to ram my head into a stalactite (or would that be a stalagmite - I never can recall) at full speed and I remember falling and blacking out.

When I woke up, we were outside the cave complex again, which had apparently collapsed as a result of the explosion of the Myriad Machine. The others had managed to get Porter and Manning and the man from the forcefield (a local hero named Steel Tiger who had been badly hurt in the assault) out, but it seemed that Stalker had got away in the chaos of the exodus with Cobweb and the broken body of Dr. Cyclops. Servo had been caught in the collapse of the cave and we were all desperately hoping that it was smashed. So we called in the cops and sat on the captives until they came and took everyone away (they also took away Steel Tiger calling him a known vigilante, though he seemed bound for the hospital rather than jail in the short term).

That pretty much wraps it up. We eventually got everything sorted out and crashed for the night at the nearest hotel, then caught a flight back the next day. There sorta was some hassle with the rental agency about the car, though. We sprung for the 'stupidity insurance', so I don't know what their beef is! They should be happy for having assisted us in taking down some dangerous villains! Instead they, err, said something about contacting your lawyers. Crucible? Are you okay? Are you under mental attack or something? [...recording ends]

WRAPUP     :  A Mixed Result. While the Heroes Vanquished the Evildoers, with several villains captured, Servo theoretically destroyed and Cyclops sent Scurrying Back to wherever he Came From, the Myriad Machine was destroyed in the collapse of the cave. Could Tribunal Be Saved Without It?
