ENTRY      :  15/11/00: 10:00am;   Just finished a number of departmental meetings about the proposed 'Knights of the Coast' concept. It generally went over well, and Sally in particular thought that it would sell given the recent encounters with a villainous knight. The Marketing types were especially keen on the idea, sensing the opportunity to revitalize the Action Figure sales. They wanted to issue a Limited Series of Collectible Figures, but I overruled that - I want every child to be able to own the full set of Figures. We have hopes to get the line out in time for Christmas, if we hurry matters along.

Note: I will have to talk to the other Heroes, however, to get their approval of the matter, plus the legal rights to use their image in this way. I also want to discuss the creation of a "Knights of the Coast Foundation" to oversee this type of business, with proceeds being thrown back to help out the less-affluent members of the group and provide for a team base in the future. Lawrence will of course be looking after the details.

15/11/00: 11:00am;   Bad news. I paid a visit to Humanidyne to check into the status of Tribunal. Discussed his case with Dr. Roswell, the assistant to the kidnapped Dr. Manning, and was told that - while they had Tribunal's Mental Confusion under some semblance of control, his physical state was deteriorating. The other two portions of Tribunal were even worse off, and had to be stored in Cryogenic Stasis! If we didn't recover Manning and the Myriad Machine within about 48 hours, they would Die and likely so would Big Blue!

The portion of Tribunal known to me as Big Blue was up and around, and I did have the chance to talk to him as I escorted him back to Millennium Towers. He Was Not The Man I Remembered. Calling himself Phoenix, this new Hero was pretty Grim about the whole situation. He didn't want to talk about it too much, so the trip passed in an Uncomfortable Silence.

15/11/00: 2:00pm;   Arriving back at the office, we caught a Minor Break in the case. Hopefully. Hazardman was there and admitted to me that he had lost his Communicator during the course of the previous evening's fight. Apparently at one point Bludgeon had smashed him into one of the large pieces of equipment that had been stolen thereafter, jarring loose the Communicator. Hazardman had spent the morning searching the wreckage of the lab for it, but turned up nothing. Expecting me to be somewhat upset at his apparent irresponsibility, he didn't understand why I was actually elated at the news. I didn't have time to enlighten him, but instead rushed downstairs to consult with Victor in his makeshift lab. There, he was able to confirm what I Only Dared Hope; it would be a simple matter to modify Pinging Pete to track down the missing Communicator, and (hopefully) with it our Enemy's Lair! He set to work immediately.

15/11/00: 3:00pm;   The work in the lab was interrupted by the sound of a Ruckus upstairs. Victor and I rushed up to find a lot of stuff in disarray, and Hazardman reporting that a 'white robot' had trashed the place and Made Off in search of me!

Blazing in my Anger, I began to coordinate a search for the rogue machine. This proved unnecessary, however, when mere minutes later the unfeatured white form of an automaton smashed back into the office, declaiming, "Destroy. Kill.". Catching sight of me, it warned, "I am Servo. I am Your Doom," then leapt to the attack.

The Day Wasn't Looking Good.

The action, as Fiery Blasts Exploded Forth from my Unfortunate Offices was caught on film by Channel 6. While good for my personal Media Profile, this was bound to be bad for the insurance rates. We really need a new base; preferably one further from the Downtown Core.

At any rate the Battle Was Hot and Furious. Servo took everything that Phoenix, Hazardman and I could dish out. Even the quick arrivals of Oberon and Sub-Zero did little to Turn the Tide. It took us all together to defeat the Unspeakable Abomination, even as it grew ever stronger by Learning our varied Attack Methods (using Ice Blasts against me, and my Patented Flamestrike™ against Phoenix, etc.), but Defeat It We Did as I managed to Blow It's Head Off (caught nicely on the Evening News).

15/11/00: 6:00pm;  More bad news. Even as we fought Servo, it was reported to us that a "large orange creature" had attacked Humanidyne once again, and made off with Phil Porter. Once Again we had Fallen for the Diversion While the Real Attack Had Gone Off Unopposed!

Turning the Robotic Head over to Victor for further study, we received the glad news that the modifications to Pinging Pete were complete. We Could Now Take The Fight To The Enemy!

It didn't take long before we determined that this wouldn't be as easy as it seemed. Pinging Pete's tones revealed that the Villains were pretty far distant, possibly in or around San Francisco. I arranged for some tickets on an evening flight even as the others made what arrangements they deemed necessary. Even as I did this, I was Gripped By Doubt, however. What if this was Yet Another Diversion?!? What if the Villains Themselves Were Nearby, regardless of the Communicator's position? How Could I Leave the City Undefended in Times of Turmoil Such As These (or even defended only by the inexperienced Hazardman)? How Could I Not Go, with Tribunal's Life On The Line? What about Steel Tiger - Dared I Risk an Encounter by Trespassing Upon His Turf?

WRAPUP     :  Although we managed to Defeat the Awesome Power of Servo, Time Was Against Us. We had far too little time to foil the bad guys lest one of our own Fall By The Wayside Of Their Evil Schemes!
