KOTC Database Entry: CYCLOPS, DR.
|
| QUOTE: | "At last! Now my brother will be reborn!" |
BACKGROUND: |
Little is known about Dr. Cyrus Orlac, save that he was the brother of the twisted genius Dr. Cadmus Orlac, creator of the Synthezoids, and has apparently followed in his brother's footsteps. He attempted to carry out an elaborate plan with the intent of raising his brother from the dead; a plan that was foiled by the intercession of the Knights. Some months later, and apparently having somehow possessed the body of Dr. Karl Manning in the meantime, Dr. Cyclops struck again against Humanidyne Inc., storming the place with a bunch of Synthezoids in order to take the "greatest creation his brother ever devised"; Phoenix. (No reason or evidence to support this belief was divulged.) This attempt was again narrowly thwarted by the Knights, though not without extensive damage to certain labs. Most of the villains involved managed to escape, including Dr. Cyclops (again with the assistance of Stalker). |
MOTIVATION: |
Revive his brother, Dr. Cadmus Orlac. |
TACTICS: |
Dr. Cyclops prefers to avoid physical confrontation as much as possible, operating behind a screen of lackeys and forcefields (if necessary). A genius and manipulator in his own field, he is rather single-minded and can be outmaneuvered. |
KNOWN STRENGTHS: |
Very intelligent. |

Far tougher in Manning's body than he was in his own. Seems impervious to a lot of pain, weak spots, etc. |

FOCII/EQUIPMENT: |
No Data. |

KotC ENCOUNTERS: |
- first encountered by Crucible some time prior to the shuttle incident. This incident left Crucible with a nasty dislike for the twisted maniac, for although he thwarted Cyclops' plot, it cost him a close friend, Sylvia Kovacs. - next encountered under the ruins of Fort Contato, where he imprisoned the heroes in a death trap, then gleefully subjected Oberon to pointless torture before making good his escape. - was thwarted in his attempt to use the Myriad Machine to resurrect his brother, and greviously wounded by Tribunal. His unconscious form was telported away by Stalker, and it is not known whether or not he survived his wounds. - while apparently occupying the body of Dr. Karl Manning, he made an attempt to capture (and possibly possess) Phoenix from within the Humanidyne labs. Although stopped once again by the Knights, he and most of his team did manage to escape. |
KotC COMMENTS: |
- Tribunal: "No comment." - Black Blur: "What's this guy got - balls of steel or something?" |
