| Located on Highway 101 near Sausolito, across the bay from San Francisco, Coast City is the home to 1 million (2 million including the greater Metropolitan Area) people. It is a major center of international trade, as well as the electronics and finance industries. In 1906, the city was greatly damaged during the Great Quake. |
SANTA CLARA CHANNEL: Shipping throughfare.
MIDTOWN: Central business district and high-rise condos/apartment buildings.
WESTPORT: Blue-collar district. Docks and shipyards.
NORTHGATE: White-collar communities in northern end with subway commute to Midtown. Ethnic sectors of Mexican, Irish, Italian and Vietnamese in central/south-central end. Low-income housing ("The Block") along east side.
PRESIDIO: Artist and cultural district. Lots of restaurants and shops to cater to the tourist and university trades.
DROPAWAY BEACH: Beach and other attractions. The Boulevard.
EASTPORT: Residential district. Industrial area and docks.
CHINATOWN: Chinese ethnic community.
EL BARRIO: Low-income Mexican immigrant region. Population rapidly expanding.
NORBOLT PARK: Middle-class district housing many of the people who work in Danbury. Various suburbs.
RICHTON: Middle-class district. Small industrial zone with blue-collar workings and low-income housing.
NORTHPORT: Original Spanish colonial site. Known for its uneven terrain and sloping thoroughfares, this district is home to many blue-collar and middle-class labourers.
RANCHO ALTO: Home to industry patrons and well-to-do engineers. Numerous jewelry shops and boutiques.
SEILER HILLS: Middle-class residential district. Low rolling hills and several parks.
VALLEJO: Middle-class district, but with rampant unemployment in northern end. Flooding a regular problem.
DANBURY: Also known as 'Silicon Belt', this district hosts much of the R&D trade as well as various older industrial occupants.
SEAGATE: New industrial zone, with lots of factories and heavy construction centers.
REUTER'S ISLAND: Travel to and in close proximity of this island is striclty controlled.
CHANNEL ISLANDS: Numerous small islands, mostly undeveloped, dot the Eastern and Western seaboards of Coast City.
WILDERNESS AREA: A Federal Nature Reserve lies to the Northwest of Coast City.
