COACHING AND EDITING SERVICES

In addition to my writing, I am also a freelance editor, writing coach and teacher, with years of experience. I've edited nonfiction and fiction books, coached beginning writers for specific book projects as well as general writing skills, and have taught writing and editing at Camosun College and international writing conferences.

Here's what some of my clients and colleagues have said about me:

Bev Cooke helped me, in an honest and supportive manner, to develop a nascent piece of writing into a story I'm proud of. She taught me how to develop a coherent storyline and to flesh out the characters.

Shelagh Gaskill author of The Greening of Leiland

I cannot say enough about the wonderful way Bev worked on my book, the encouragement she  gave, and the ease I had in making changes. The fact that I was always in charge made working with her a very enjoyable learning experience. Her professionalism showed in every sentence and without her kind understanding when I was feeling overwhelmed the book would never have been finished.  I recommend her highly.

Libby Lervik, author of Life is a Board Game

Bev and I have worked together for years. I am published in short fiction and non-fiction, and in that role Bev has assisted me in taking my work to the next level. In my capacity  as editor, Bev has worked with me in both copyediting and proofreading, as well as producing excellent articles, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
