JOHN TAIT MACRAE
John Tait MacRae, son of Murdock MacRae who was a brother of Mrs. Duncan MacRae, lives in Scotland. He was a great piper. He had the honor of playing before Queen Victoria, and at the time of the Worlds Exhibition in Chicago was sent out there to give an exhibition of bag-pipe playing. His home was in Kintail. Here, from an acre of land, and what he could make by fishing, he raised a family of four.
- Catharine a school teacher (who got Beth a pen pal, Mhairi Matheson, in her school and they corresponded for many years. Mhairi became a doctor in the area.)
- Murdock a Presbyterian Minister in Glasgow.
- Christopher who won the Scottish scholarship from Glasgow and graduated from Oxford University. He was in the Archives at Edinburgh. His son John lived in Aukland, New Zealand in 1977 when John and his wife, Amie (French), and daughter, Joanne (born in 1974) visited Uncle Duncan in Colorado Springs. John was on sabbatical from the Economics Department, University of Aukland.
- Findlay was at home with his father in 1936.
