Registration: In advance with the CFC; Onsite 2-7 pm, Sunday July 6, 2003; Late Registration, Monday July 7, 8:00 to 8:30 am
Schedule: Opening Ceremonies: 9 am; Rounds 10 am, 4 pm July 7-9. Round 7: 10 am, July 10; Playoffs as required to follow.
Categories will play separately; By popular demand, there will be no amalgamation of sections. As a result, some sections may be too small to run a 7-round Swiss.
No half-point byes may be requested. A forced bye, due to an odd number of players in a section, is worth 1 point.
No spectators are allowed in the playing hall during the games, only players and officials. Parents, coaches, and other spectators must leave the hall 2 minutes after the round starts, during which time they can take photos.
No cellphones in the playing hall. There will be a time penalty for a first offence of using a cellphone or hearing one ring. Second offence penalty is loss of the game.
Clocks, Sets, Boards, and Scoresheets are provided. All games will be played on the equipment provided, with the clock placed at Black's right side.
Time Control is 30 moves in 90 minutes; then 1 hour for the rest of the game.
Questions during the game If you have a question during the game, you may stop the clocks and raise your hand. A tournament official will then come to answer the question. Please do not try to settle differences through talking to your opponent.
