Workshops and Classes"Come print with me and learn to love"... making multiples of original art. I enjoy company and sharing my knowledge of printmaking. My studio in sunny Cowichan Bay on Vancouver Island, is spacious enough for groups or individual students of all ages. There are two etching presses, miscellaneous equipment and supplies for making many types of prints. Printmaking with a Press - choice of subjects - contact me for details I - Learn dry point techniques using Plexiglas and other mediums to make intaglio prints.II - With zinc plates and Nitric acid create etchings using old & new techniques. III - Using solar plates or foilograph plates produce unique 'etched' imagery without acid. IV - Create multilayered monotypes with colour & textures. Printmaking without a Press - choices - contact me for details I - Monotype prints using hand rubbed techniques.II - Relief printmaking using textured plates and wood or lino blocks. III - Non-toxic methods using Gelatin plates, easy cut, Styrofoam or wax plates. IV - Pochoir or stencil methods with or without a press. Weekly classes - Four classes one day a week, choose afternoons 1 to 4 pm or evenings 7 to 10pm. 4 participants per session, extra press time included. One Day workshops - 10am to 4pmTwo Day workshops - 10am to 4pm each day. Weekend retreats - 4 days total includes; Friday - pick up from ferry and/or airport, quick tour of Victoria, drive up Island to Duncan & settle in accommodation,* restaurant dinner together & tour studio. Saturday - demo and introduction to methods for creating plates for original prints, (lunch provided) produce inked prints by dinnertime - evening flexible. Sunday - expand on plate techniques and inking methods and presentation to produce an edition of prints. Dinner is a potluck with other printmakers showing their works & sharing techniques. Monday - time permitting, ink more prints.
