DAVIN - I LOVE YOUR SITE! IT'S FULL OF GREAT INFORMATION AND INSPIRATION! :) HERE'S MY STORY: My journey from 260lbs to 145lbs was much an emotional one as a physical one. I was a 260lb compulsive over eater and wore size 52 jeans and a 26 dress. I spent years perfecting the art of hiding food and over eating in secret. I always promised myself I would someday lose the weight, but I kept getting more and more fat.One day, I looked at myself in the mirror and realized I hated what I saw. I started by changing my bad eating habits, one step at a time by making one rule at a time. It was then that I decided it was time to put exercise into the equation. I joined my local gym, Fitness World, in October 1999. As I looked at the body fat composition results showing 42% body fat, I quietly accepted that this is where I was at, and it was only the beginning. I worked out 3 days a week to start, and every few weeks I would go up a level or 2 of intensity and training. Soon enough, I had worked up to doing 30 min. of cardio and adding 40 minutes of weight training to my routine. Along the way, my friends and family, as well as total strangers were encouraging me and helping me by answering questions I had. With their support, I have come to LOVE the gym, and love the exhilarating feeling when I am lifting heavier weights or doing that extra few minutes on the cardio machine. Going to the gym was the toughest step for me, but it has become the most enjoyable part of my routine!
