Benjamin Kilham
Ben Kilham has enchanted the world with his stories of mothering twenty-six black bear cubs over the last 20 years, and wrote the book Among the Bears. National Geographic called him "Mother Bear Man." He was featured in a 2005 documentary for Discovery Channel's Papa Bear.
Ben has been featured in two National Geographic TV specials, NBC Dateline, CBS Coast to Coast, People, New York Times, Field and Stream magazine, the Boston Globe, and appeared on the Today Show, and Late Show with David Letterman.
Charlie Russell
Charlie Russell has spent the best part of 45 years studying bears in their natural habitat, and near people. In 1992/93 Russell spent two years living on Princess Royal Island working on a film about
the Spirit Bear.
In the past 11 years Russell has rescued and released
10 grizzly zoo cubs in Kamchatka, Russia. He penned several books about these experiences, including the Canadian best selling book,
Grizzly Heart: Living Without Fear
Among the Brown Bears Of Kamchatka. The BBC documentary Bear Man of Kamchatka will air around the
world in late 2007.
