White Rock Run
Comments:
White Rock is a pleasant summer ride although mainly due to its "ambience". The road itself is so-so at best.
From Burnaby take the Queensborough Bridge and sweep down the #91/#99 freeways to north White Rock. At the King George exit take Elgin to Crescent Rd. Crescent Rd is a nice ride into Crescent Beach for a rest stop. Or turn at 128 St and head south to Marine Dr for a cruise down the main strip. During summer the entire area is hellishly busy but the beaches are justifiably famous. On a hot summer day with rising tide, the water is actually warm enough to enjoy.
When you are finished with White Rock, follow Marine Dr out to #99 and head north. We usually take the King George exit and follow #99A to New McLellan Road (56 Ave). This is an enjoyable ride along Panorama Ridge to Scott Road where you can join #91 again. At that point we return via Queensborough Bridge or peel off just prior to the Alex Fraser and catch the north portion of River Rd (returning via the Patullo Bridge).
