suggests June 1 as the day the studio actually opened for business. Brock
returned to Brandon in August of that year and Devine carried on the business
under the name J.A. Brock & Co. The partnership was formally dissolved in
November 1887 but the announcement to this effect was not made until the
following April. Devine advertised the business for sale in January 1889.
