Barry Boates

Greetings from Beautiful Downtown Balfour

What can I say.... that's me. Either camera is a little out of focus or I really am blurry in the morning.  The resident mouser, Sindar.
Balfour is usually found down in the southeast corner of British Columbia, near Nelson, right on Kootenay lake. Pretty much not on the road to anywhere. Satellite image of Balfour. The town is just east of Nelson BC and I live just to the left of the ferry landing (dotted line on lake)

Bit by bit I'll get this figured out.

Currently living in two bedroom suite of a very unique round house. No need to give directions. Everyone in Balfour knows where the round house is and its almost impossible to miss from highway. If you reach the ferry you've gone just a bit too far.

Plenty of parking so feel free to bring a motor home when visiting. View across the highway is Kootenay lake. Quite pretty in the spring, summer and fall but a little bare in the winter

Don't run away but I was convinced to add a few more pictures of myself

Fun Stuff

I've a couple of hobbies that fill my idle time and definitely keep me extremely amused.

First off, I'm the host of a morning radio show on Nelson's co-op station CJLY. Every Monday morning at 10am you can tune in and listen to my selections of Old Time Radio programs.

After decades of neglect I am also back to playing chess on a regular basis down at the local Nelson Chess club.

Loose end

I've gotta admit  --- among other interests I enjoy watching movies and quirky well-written TV shows. Any show that makes me laugh or think in a left-handed manner is bound to be a winner in my books. Just wish that those clowns in charge of TV schedules would follow my advice.
