Inverness Township, Megantic County, Quebec, arriving between 1816 and
1819. He settled on Lot 1, 3rd Range, known as the Belcher range. He was a
descendant of George ALDRICH, who arrived in Massachusetts in 1631 from
England. Descendants migrated to Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and
eventually spread throughout North America. Paul Newman ALDRICH came with
his father to Inverness Township from Vermont. He and his wife, Margaret
MYNANN (probably not the correct spelling) were among a group from
Inverness who travelled to Huron County, Ontario in 1854 when it was
opened up to settlers. Several of their children migrated further west.
