The cabinet was built of 5/8 inch mdf which was glued and screwed for strength. 1x1 spruce was used to reinforce the sides and the monitor shelf. Measurements for the cabinet were based on the required space for the selected monitor and computer bits and pieces.

 

The control panel is set up for 1 player with a joystick and 5 buttons.   It is interfaced to the computer via a keyboard hack.  This is not recommended for more complicated control panels but in this case it was quick and convenient.
