In Memoriam

Peter Rolston

January 12th 1936 - June 6th 2006

Peter was the star of Planet Pals, The Magic Caravan,

and Pete's Place on BCTV from 1963 to 1981,

 including winning an Actra award in 1978.

Besides the TV shows, Peter performed at fairs,

company functions and even the ocassional birthday party.

Peter, along with George, Cindy, Hank

and the rest of the gang

were a huge part of my childhood.

Peter was more than just a performer.

He was my inspiration as a ventriloquist

and magician, and later became my teacher, mentor and best of all my friend.

One of my fondest memories

is when we were traveling to Vancouver Island

to do some shows together.

The whole time we were on the ferry

 from the mainland, people would stop by

 and tell Peter of all the memories

 they had of him when they were kids.

 He was always warm and gracious to each visitor.

 He reminded me that

 “Those nice people paid for my house

and put my girls through college.

The least I can do is say Hi.”

He was a true gentleman.

I miss him every day.
