What others have to say about Backwater:
"I was impressed with the way Rick Brine built the foundation blocks of kayaking, equipping the students with the skills to handle themselves on the water (river). The lessons were well planned & designed, allowing students to learn co-operatively and be challenged individually"
(Glen Mikkelson, Prince George - student)

"Rick Brine took a klutz like me and had me comfortable and functioning efficiently in a Sea Kayak within minutes. That ranks a major accomplishment - as anyone who knows me can testify."
(Jim Rennie, Ontario - Sport Letter, Publisher)

"I observed Rick teach the complete Eskimo roll at arms length (from in his boat) to a young beginner. I enjoyed watching his style of instruction of "teaching by understanding"; enabling the student visualize the whole skill as well as breaking it down into key components"
(Keith Morton, Calgary - Explore Magazine, editor)
