PASTELS PINWHEEL AFGHAN

See DIAGRAM at bottom of pattern.

Directions:- Intermediate
Size:- 54 x 75 inches

Materials:-
4-ply yarn in 8 oz. Skeins ( I used Phentex Merit 1.75oz/50gram skeins)
5 skeins white
1 skein each; pale yellow, pastel peach. Lilac, pale green, petal pink and light blue
(NOTE:- In the first one I made, I followed their colour scheme, in the second I used my own ideas.)
Crochet hook size I/9/5.50mm
Yarn Needle

Gauge 4 dc = 1 inch; 2 dcs rnds = 1 inch.
(I didn't bother with this as I was using the same yarn and crochet hook and my tension is always the same, never varies.)
Pattern Notes:-
Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
To change yarn colour, work off last 2 loops of last stitch with new colour; work over old colour until next colour change. Gently tug over strand every 3 - 4 sts to keep even.

The edging is a simple round of sc to give a finished edge without changing the colour patterns. The large size makes it suitable for a coverlet for a single bed. Substitute the white with off-white or cream.
Note:- I made a smaller one, I made these squares;- 6 blue, 7 yellow, 6 pink, 3 lilac, 3 green, 4 peach. 14 quarter rounds, and 4 half round. (No matter what size you make only 4 half rounds are required.)

Following diagram. Just make sure you change the colour in each row so that pink and pink aren't together, etc. Sew quarter rounds along sides and half rounds to side of corner squares.
I will try to scan diagram (it isn't very bright), also there are notations where I marked the squares and colours for a baby's crib afghan for my great granddaughter.
