Norwegian Waffles

The use of sour cream and cardamon make this a Norwegian variety. In earlier days they were baked in waffle irons embossed with the insignia of the family or the family crest.

Preheat waffle iron. If necessary grease with shortening.

Combine:-
2 eggs
2/3 cup thick dairy sour cream
1 cup milk

Stir in
2 cups Basic Baking Mix
1/4 teaspoon ginger or cardamon

beat with a beater or spoon until smooth. Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each section onto preheated waffle iron. Bake until steam stops escaping. Serve hot with butter and jam or maple syrup.
Makes 8 to 9 waffles.
