Finnish Almond Sticks
These melt-in-the-mouth fingers are doubly flavoured with almond.
Instructions:-
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Grease Baking sheet.
Cream;
1/2 cup butter
Gradually beat in;
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons almond flavouring
Beat until light and fluffy.
Blend in;
2 cups Basic Baking Mix
On a lightly floured surface shape dough into finger thick round strands. Cut into 2-inch sticks and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet.
Brush tops with a mixture of;
1 unbeaten egg white
2 tablespoons water
Sprinkle with;
1/3 cup finely chopped blanched almonds
granulated sugar
Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden.
Makes 2-1/2 dozen sticks.
