Drop Biscuits #1
Instructions:-
Preheat oven to 425ºF.
Mix together and beat slightly;
2 cups Basic Baking Mix (do not pack)
2/3 cup milk
Directions:-
Drop from a spoon onto a greased baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
Makes 12 biscuits.
Drop Biscuits #2
1-1/2 cups Basic Formula (do not pack)
1/2 cup milk
Directions:-
Make a well in the mix, add the milk and stir with a fork until all of the mix is moistened. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto a baking sheet.
Bake in a 450ºF oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
Yield:- 9 to 10 biscuits.
VARIATIONS OF #2:-
Orange Drops:- Add 1 tablespoon sugar to dry mix.
Substitute 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1 tablespoon grated otrange rind for part of the milk. Place juice and rind in measuring cup. Pour in milk to the 1/2 cup mark.
Bacon Drops:- Add 2 to 3 strips of bacon which has been fried, drained and crumbled to dry ingredients beore blending in the milk.
Marmalade or Jam Drops:-After drop biscuit dough has been dropped on baking sheet, make a small dent in top of each. Add a dab of jam or marmalade. Bake.
(2 tablespoons of marmalade or jam will be sufficient for the whole batch).
