Dinner Rolls

Fast rising rolls that take a minimum of time from start to finish.

Instructions:-
Preheat oven to 400ºF

Stir together until dissolved
3/4 cup lukewarm water (100ºF)
1 teaspoon sugar

Sprinkle over top and let stand 10 minutes
1 envelope active dry yeast

Stir briskly with a fork.

Add and beat vigorously with electric mixer or by hand
2 cups Basic Baking Mix

Then with a spoon beat in an additional
1 cup Basic Baking Mix

Turn out on a lightly floured surface and knead about a minute.
Shape into a smooth ball and place in a greased bowl, rotating dough to grease surface.
Cover with wax paper and a damp cloth and let rise about 30 minutes. Punch down and shape into 24 round balls.
Place on greased baking sheet, cover with wax paper and damp cloth. Let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 30 minutes).
Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden.
Makes 24 rolls.

CRESCENTS
Roll dough into a 12-inch circle, cut into 16 wedge-shaped pieces. Starting from the wide edge, roll up each and place on a greased baking sheet.
Bake as directed.

PARKERHOUSE ROLLS
Roll dough into a 3/8-inch circle. Using a 2-1/2 inch floured round biscuit cutter cut into 16 rolls. Brush with melted butter. Crease each just off center and fold over wider half on top. Place on a greased baking sheet. Bake as directed.

BOWKNOTS
Roll dough into a 6x18-inch rectangle. Cut into twenty-four 6-inch strips. Tie each strip into a knot and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake as directed.
