Coffee Ring
Ingredients:-
1/2 cup warm water (110ºF to 115ºF) not hot
1 package active yeast
1 egg
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2-1/2 cups Basic Baking Mix
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup brown sugar
Method:-
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add eggs, sugar and Baking Mix. Beat vigorously for 2 minutes.
Turn dough out onto a well floured surface. Knead until smooth, about 20 times.
Roll into a rectangle, about 16 x 9-inches.
Spread with butter and brown sugar. Roll up tightly, beginning with wide side. Seal well by pinching edge of dough into roll.
Place, with sealed side down, on a greased baking sheet. Pinch ends together to form a ring.
With kitchen scissors, make cuts 2/3 of way through ring at 1-inch intervals. Turn each section on its side.
Let rise in a warm place (85ºF) for about 1 hour.
Heat oven to 375ºF.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes. Frost with a creamy Icing while warm. Decorate with candied cherry halves and wallnut or pecan halves.
