With the arrival of summer comes the desire to
enjoy a road trip.
So pull on the driving gloves, slip on your shades
and hit the road on your Harley!
Technical Notes: I
modeled all the objects in this scene with Rhino
then textured them in Bryce4 The textures are all Bryce procedural
textures, often severely tweaked. The exception to this is the wood
surface. I took a scan of a small tabletop and used Steve Cox's UV
Mapper to place the texture. I've still got a lot to learn about
UV mapping, and I don't think Bryce is the best for using UV maps, but
this worked out well. The scratches in the wood were added with the
bump map. The reflection in the sunglasses is of a photograph I took
which is postioned behind the camera. Some layering of the reflection
was done in Photoshop. There are actually 5 different renders layered
together to get the effect I wanted on the lenses. The actual modeling
also taught me a lot, so I have added a tutorial
on my Rhino page. A lot of the details are not visible in this
image, so check out the links below.
