The third floor of our home enjoys Kitsilano's most sought-after feature: a view of the ocean and mountains. And the third floor's indoor rooms are almost as spectacular as the view.

There's a dramatic lofted den, rising to a double-height gabled ceiling and opening to the living room below. And an enclosed sunroom with peaked ceiling, enormous sloping skylights, and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto the ocean-facing balcony. Indoors or out, this addition to your living area gives you the best of Vancouver's clean air and golden light.

We spotted our first eagle from this balcony within a week of moving in, and our first hawk not long after. This spacious outdoor room currently holds a cafe table and chairs, two lounge chairs, and a desk! It's a great space for entertaining or for a seasonal outdoor office.

With its enormous built-in bookcase and cupboards, the third floor loft makes a wonderfully bright, open concept office space. The main area can hold a large desk, with lots of room left over for a bookcase or seating area.

The enclosed third floor sunroom is a great office, family room, guest room or bedroom. You can see into the room through a glass window, and out to the balcony through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The third floor also features a double-height storage closet with built-in shelves, and a large hidden storage area underneath the loft windows.
