Guests are always surprised and charmed by our home's unique, sun-filled design. The main floor opens to the third floor above it for a lofty, beach house feel. The result is a space that combines the convenience of a modern home with the charm of a character building.

This is a space where you can host a formal dinner, throw a fabulous party, or cosy up for a quiet evening with family or friends. We love its bright sun by day and its quiet warmth at night.

When guests walk up to the front door they never realize they're entering on the second floor. It feels like a perfectly natural main floor approach and layout.

Our living room is a very generous space featuring large windows and a ceiling open to the third floor loft above, for a total room height of about 25 feet. A third-floor celing fan circulates warm air in the winter and cool air in the summer.

The dining room also gets lots of light, and enjoys the same lofted ceiling as the living room. It comfortably accommodates a six or eight-person table, with room left over for a buffet or sideboard.

The main floor also features an entry way with full-size coat closet, a discreet laundry closet with stacking washer and dryer (new as of 2007), and a two-piece powder room lit by a large skylight.
