Stewardship Education and Training

I have been involved in stewardship education and development for over thirty years, in parishes, as well as from a diocesan and national perspective.  I have written quite a bit of material on Stewardship over the year, some of which has been written with others. Just click on the title above for a listing os some of them.

My journey

I have been  a parish priest in a number of parishes in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, as well as on the west coast in Langley-Surrey in the Diocese of New Westminster, and until my retirement, the rector of St. Philip's-By-The-Sea in Lantzville B.C. a beautiful seaside community on the outskirts of the City of Nanaimo B.C. on Vancouver Island.

I have have also held positions as the National Consultant in Funding and Membership Development of the Anglican Church of Canada, and as Program Co-ordinator for the Diocese of Saskatoon.

For a number of years I worked as a Addictions Counsellor and Community Service Consultant for the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission in the Calgary clinic and later in Red Deer.  During that time I also was a part-time  news announcer on a local radio station in Red Deer - CKGY " A fresh breath of country air" ( a country music  station)

Paula has a social work degree and works as a social worker in child protection in the  Nanaimo area. We will have been married  for thirty years in October 2008. We have one daughter, Megan, who is now married and has two sons, one three years old and a one year old.  She graduated with  a B.A. from UBC in Vancouver.  She now works as a senior underwriter for a national insurance corporation. We have a son, Michael, who has graduated with  a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology from Malaspina University College in Nanaimo. (Now the University of Vancouver Island -  UVI) and works for a company that develops programs in internet security for large companies.

I am now retired  from active parish work June 2002 and living in Nanaimo BC. Canada

You can check out some of Megan's poetry and writing on her web site Cafe Des Poetes

I have three other adult children from a previous marriage, Mary Anne who lives with her husband, a son and two daughters in Nanaimo, Lori who is with her partner and son in PEI, and Carol Lynn who is also known as a musician and singer under the name of Carly "the Gypsy Buterfly" . She now lives in Peachland B.C. (on the Okanagan Lake in the British Columbia interior). Carol has two adult sons presently working in Alberta.  I have a total of eight grandchildren.

Mary Anne is a very talented artist.  She has a new web site called Faerie Artist where she displays her Art.   You can access her site at:

Carly  has developed her own web site called Carly The Gypsy Butterfly.  Please check it out.  You will find it truly inspirational.

    THE GODDESS WITHIN
    MUSIC PROJECT

Each year, thousands of women and children become homeless as a result of domestic violence.  "The Goddess Within" music project is designed to empower those whose lives have been affected by domestic abuse and to raise awareness of this issue.

"The Goddess Within" compilation album will showcase artists and their songs, written for or relating to those escaping the cycle of violence.  The C.D. will be distributed throughout North America and proceeds from the sale of the C.D. will be donated to women's shelters.

More information on the CD is available at ARTISTS FOR CHANGE

My daughter Carly is featured on the album with her song The Mask.
The art for cover for the CD album is the creation of another daughter, Mary Anne Molcan.
