INTRODUCTION ASPINROCK PERM. REG'D PEKINGESE How it all began? My love affair with the Bichon Frise began in 1986 when I acquired my first Bichon. Bailey was the start of a sport that would span two decades. I acquired my first show dog named Ch. Holligan’s Pot of Gold in 1991. From Nikki came many others and a breeding program that I am very proud of. With breeding stock from primarily Yoannewyn and Hooligan I was on my way. After much deliberation I decided in 1998 that I would like another breed. I was most fortunate to acquire the most wonderful Pekingese, Multi BIS Int. Am. Multi BIS BISS Can. Ch. Wenrick’s Joker’s Wild (Am Can Ch. St. Aubrey Chit Chat of Elsdon son), from the esteemed Wenrick Kennel of Wendy & Richard Paquette in Ontario. He was the start of my fascination with the Pekingese. In 1999, Joker was #1 Pekingese and #7 Toy Dog in Canada in a very competitive Toy Group. In 2000, Joker was once again in the top 10 Toys. There have been a few since Joker, but he will continue to set the gold standard in my breeding program. The following years would see the addition of stud dogs from the esteemed Taeplace kennel, which have incorporated the Belknap and St. Aubrey lines. Our future looks bright at Aspinrock! In Apri 2003, Xclusive Japanese Chins were born with Kim McKay & Murray Berg (Arkeno Papillons) and LeeAnne Bateman. This would be the start of a very powerful Chin dynasty with the experience totalling 50 years of purebred dogs.
