Media: Edmonton Women Making a Difference

Joanna B. Wacowich who performs under the name Asia, brings uplifting messages to the world through her poetry and songs(in English and Polish). She sees her mission as "uniting the world in love, peace and harmony." and has written more than 600 inspirational poems. She is also an event writer. Recently, Asia wrote a composition entitled "Edmonton, We Call You Home", and performed it at a major event put on by the Polish Society. She will be performing the song, in which Mayor Stephen Mandel has shown interest, at various events in the city. Her poetry will also be aired over the radio on the university station FM 88.5 CJSR.Other upcoming projects include the publication of a poetry book in English and Polish, the release of a poetry CD with background of tranquil music by Dean Evenson and writing songs for CD projects. On their partnership, Dean Evenson commented. "My music will be a fine match for Asia's lovely poetry." Asia feels that her poems provide spiritual wisdom as well as down-to-earth advice; that's how she takes credit for her own talent:"... I am able to hear the divine messages and put them into words. Talent like this cannot be manufactured or learned at school", she said. "It is my gift to people - a gift from God."
