| Carol grew up in Canmore and
has been living and painting in Fort McMurray since 1989. In
between, she was a student, then a teacher, at the Alberta College of
Art & Design. The Aurora Borealis and the unique golden light
shimmering through the poplars and tamarack pines are sources of
inspiration for her. She takes a playful, storytelling approach to
her painting, creating a magical imagery that incorporates some of the
myths and symbols of the north.

Joanne was born in Wetaskiwin,
raised nearby in the country, and grew up with a deep appreciation of
nature. In her painting, she is searching for beauty, life and
light. She wants to understand, explore, capture and share the
