St. Croix Valley Families

Welcome to the genealogy database that is being developed for families of the St. Croix Valley. The following description is to assist you in using the database to its fullest extent and allow you to assist Bill Garcelon, of St. Stephen, and myself in developing this aid to all researchers. If you are unaware of the web pages for Charlotte Co., NB and the associated Parishes then follow the links as shown

If you are searching for your roots in either Charlotte Co., NB or Washington Co., ME then there might be a possibility that your family is already part of the growing database of families of the St. Croix Valley that are available at my database, aek740a, at WorldConnect. The easiest way to search this database is to follow the link to the database at Basic Search at World Connect and using the Index, enter the name in the box provided or click in the alphabet to go to the names that start with that letter. This is known as a  normal mode search. If you wish to do a more  Advanced Search at World Connect where you know the surname and other information that may include -- range of dates of birth, marriage, or death, and the name of the wife then the Advanced Search is the desired method.

Once you have found the desired primary individual then it is possible to do a report on the descendants of that person. Six generations is the maximum number of generations that will print at one time. Information on living persons have been removed so if you find families with fewer children then you know of and the child of that family is deceased then please send me an email with full information so that the database may be updated. The reports generated via this method do not include any notes or sources shown for the individual pages. If these notes and sources are required then you must print the page for that individual.

If you want an ancestral report then find the primary individual and select either the Pedigree or Ahnentafel report. Once you have the desired  report on your screen then you can print it to your printer. In this way you control the format and size of the printout.

If you want to do a more extensive search for the family names and include databases of other researchers then select this Global Search  or the option for Global Search when on the homepage for "Loyalists of  New Brunswick and Maine Plus Others". This title may be confusing to many as their ancestors may not have been Loyalists. However, the title also covers them as it has the "Plus Others" that includes all non-Loyalist families.

Examples:

Descendants of Isaac Justason of Pennfield Parish, Charlotte Co., NB

When on this page, click on "Register" and you will see the desired report.

The last person in this file, as of 6 Oct. 2006, is a Brian Hollis Justason and by selecting his name from the Register report you are taken to his page. Once on this page, select "Ahnentafel" and you will see the 6-generation Ahnentafal report for that person.

For those who are just beginning to do a family search or may require a additional information about how to go about doing an orderly search then a brief report on the requirements is shown in Searching Your Ancestors.
