Altho we weren't really close to them, I remember Aunt Eva's loud, happy, greeting to my grandparent's when she came to their house. I also recall getting hand-me-downs from them and at one time, one of them was my favorite dress, I remember it well. It was lots of fun getting those bags of clothes and going through them to see what would fit (they were all new to me). Thanks for the memories! I'm researching my maternal grandparents line from Co Armagh, N. Ireland. A lot of your info is so close that we may have a connect if we can find any further information. My grandmother was Catherine McSHANE (1864-1941) from Loughross, Crossmaglen, Co Armagh. Her parents were Patrick McSHANE (1810-95) and Anne CALLAGHAN (1837-1903) from same location. Patrick was the son of James McSHANE (?-1880) and Margaret BOWDEN (?-?). I have no further info on the Callaghan or Bowden lines and I've run out of sources for more McShane data. Catherine emigrated to the states in the 1880s and married my grandfather William J. MAHER (1863-1945) in Omaha, Nebraska. Regarding the Maher line I have lots of descendant info but NO ancestral info. Supposedly came from Co Tipperary, but one cousin says her mother told her Co Cork??? A brick wall at present. If you see any possible connections (or have any suggestions), please contact me. I'm currently stationed in Germany and will likely be here for at least two more years. Appreciate any help you may provide. Again, great site! Mike Maher <mjmaher@surf1.de> Schriesheim, Germany - Monday, June 05, 2000 at 02:37:25 (PDT) Great Web...Site!!
