Meetings: "Monday night is Scouting night in Arbour Lake."

Beaver, Cub, and Scout meetings run every week from September to late spring.

  • Beaver meetings are held every Monday evening at 6:00 at St. Ambrose School in Arbour Lake.

  • Cub meetings are held every Monday night at 7:15, following the Beaver meeting, at St. Ambrose School in Arbour Lake.

  • Scout meetings are held every Monday night at 7:00 p.m. at St. Brigid School in Citadel.  We put the "outing" in "Scouting"!  Most months, there is also at least one extra Saturday or Sunday outing, including hiking in the mountains, canoeing on the rivers, and camping in all seasons.

Beavers

The Beaver section is for boys and girls, ages 5, 6 and 7.  The Beaver program is a non-competitive environment where the focus is on sharing, crafts, games, occasional outings, and even overnight camping trips.

The key concepts in the Beaver program are expressed in the Beaver Promise, Motto and Law:

Promise...
I promise to love God,
And help take care of the world.

Motto...
Sharing, Sharing, Sharing

Law...
A Beaver has fun,
Works hard,
And helps family and friends.

Each Beaver is encouraged to memorize the Promise, Motto and Law.

Cubs

The Cub Scout (a.k.a. Wolf Cub) section is for boys and girls, ages 8, 9 and 10.  The Cub program offers more challenge, and also focuses on more outdoor activities such as hikes and camping trips ranging from simple overnight camps to multi-day camps.  Cubs earn badges and stars by learning, by doing, and by developing skills.

The key concepts in the Cub program are expressed in the Cub Promise, Motto and Law:

Promise...
I promise to do my best*;
To love and serve God,
To do my duty to the Queen;
To keep the law of the Wolf Cub Pack; and
To do a good turn for somebody every day.

Motto...
Do your best*.

Law...
The Cub respects the Old Wolf;
The Cub respects himself/herself.

Each Cub has to memorize the Promise, Motto and Law.

* In the Grand Howl, the Cub Pack hollers, "A-ke-la, we'll do our best!"  The lead Wolf Cub loudly commands the pack to "DYB, DYB, DYB, DYB!" (Do Your Best) and the pack barks back, "We'll DOB, DOB, DOB, DOB!" (We'll Do Our Best!)

Scouts

The Scout section is for boys and girls, ages 11 through 14 (with option to remain until age 16).  The outdoors is a big part of the Scout program.  We emphasize having fun while encouraging youngsters to feel good about themselves, their friends and family, God, and the environment.  The program helps youngsters expand their leadership skills and gain self confidence by doing more on their own—from planning to cooking—instead of having leaders do everything for them.

Scouts earn badges and awards at progressive levels of difficulty in four "activity areas"—outdoor skills, leadership, personal development, and citizenship—and a wide range of "Challenge" badge categories.  Weekend events, extended hikes, no-trace camping, and seasonal sports opportunities round out the Scout experience.

The key concepts in the Scout program are expressed in the Promise, Motto and Law:

Promise...
On my honour, I promise
That I will do my best,
To do my duty to God and the Queen,
To help other people at all times, and
To carry out the spirit of the Scout Law.

Motto...
Be Prepared.

Law...
A Scout is
Helpful and trustworthy,
Kind and cheerful,
Considerate and clean,
Wise in the use of all resources.

Slogan...
Do a good turn daily.

Each Scout has to memorize the Promise, Motto and Law.
