Welcome to Araucana the Main Roost. Devoted to the preservation of the Araucana in Canada as well as the promotion of the breed as described in the APA & ABA Standard of Perfection, through breeding, exhibition, and dissemination of information. You will find information on genetic, the blue egg, their beautiful Ear tufts. Also Araucana pictures of this Rumpless and tufted fowl. This rare breed is sometimes wrongfully called the Easter Chicken. In the poultry world this beautiful Chicken is bred for it's wonderful characteristics, such as the blue egg, rumplessness and the gracious look of it's Ear-tufts. The Araucana is multi-purpose chicken, you will find the Araucana at the poultry show as well as in backyard flock as it is a very good forager and hardy chicken that has a descent rate of lay of beautiful bluish to greenish egg shell color as well as having a plump and well flesh breast.

I breed the following varieties
Standard Araucana in the Black & the White varieties.
