AODV For IPv6 Network
Overview
Wireless networks have become a favorable subject in academic research area as well as commercial product development. This is mainly because wireless mobile device is rapidly gaining popularity due to their compact size and portability. In general, wireless network can be classified in 2 categories: Infrastructured Network and Infrastructureless Mobile Network. Infrastructured Network normally has a fixed wired gateway and mobile node can communicate with the network through a base station. An example application of this kind of network is Wireless LAN. Infrastructureless Mobile Network is also known as ad hoc network. It doesn’t consist of any fixed gateway for packet routing. Each mobile node is acted as a router and maintains routes to other nodes in the network. This type of wireless network is very attractive to various purpose applications such as convention meeting, electronic classroom, search-and-rescue and etc.The most dramatic issue in current IP world is the exponential growth of internet user and traffic. This implicitly indicates that the current IPv4 address will run out some time, soon. Therefore, IPng or IPv6 has been introduced not only to solve this problem but also enhancing the network such as Quality-of-Services (QoS), auto configuration, security and so on.
This project is the product of the combination of these two hottest subject in networking world: Implementing IPv6 AODV Ad Hoc Routing Protocol.
