Ann bears her diploma. She's now a CGA!
One of Ann's biggest accomplishments during the time we've been together came in October, 2000 when she earned her Certified General Accountant designation. She actually completed the course earlier in the year, but it was in October that she received her graduation certificate, the culmination of 7-1/2 years of hard work and dedication.
The pictures on this page are a tribute to her accomplishment.

Ann receives her diploma from the CGA president. |
Ann, ready to party at the CGA banquet. |
There's a funny story involving Ann and the Alberta CGA president, shown above, giving Ann her certificate. It seems one day during one of the regular monthly CGA lunches, she was sitting next to him. She hadn't been introduced, so she introduced herself - and asked him how many more courses he had to take before he earned his CGA ... doh!
Now that she has her CGA, she says she only needs a few more courses to earn a bachelor's degree in business. She says she'll then have more letters after her name than I do: Ann Kidston, BBA, CGA, while I only have a bachelor's degree in business administration: John Geary, BBA. However, I recently completed the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council course to become a Certified Avian Specialist, so once I receive my certificate, I can put CAS after my name.
I'm still three letters ahead, the best you can do is tie me, dear, unless you plan to go for your master's degree some day ... (not that we would ever be competitive or anything ...!)
Once again, all kidding aside, congratulations on a tremendous accomplishment, Ann!
