I feel your breath upon my skin
I feel my fire burning deep within
Come be with me, one winter's eve
To make my yearning soul believe
You are all mine, you know..
From your head down to your precious toes
My happiness fits me like a glove
Knowing that you dream, about our love
How could we know, who was to blame
For the ignition of our enduring flame
We've shared the truth within our hearts
Not only dreams, but a place to start
Your woman , I am nonetheless
It's only you that I caress...
I don't share other parts of me
With anyone else.. that, you can see...
My heart fills with loving joy
For such a wayward, wandering boy
If I could keep you in my gate
You'd wonder why you had to wait
Come be with me, in fields of gold
Let's write a story, never told
Of how our souls were deeply moved
and how love, for us was often proved
A tear, at first, then I did smile
But I know it took me quite awhile
For now I need you also, in my mind
But no answers to you, can I find
Take my hand, and come along with me
Let your heart beat, oh so visibly....
Come be with me, my needs are great
Don't try to stop the hand of fate

I BELIEVE IN YOU
I've made her hospital bed my altar
As I pray she will make it through
Sometimes I don't know what to say
I just call out to You
Lord, she is Your child, she is not all alone
Hold her in Your arms and comfort her
As I lay her at Your throne
She looks so frail in my eyes
But You're the one who sees
The things on Earth we go through and
You said to just believe
I believe in You, Lord
I believe in Your grace
I believe You came to Earth
And died to take our place
I believe You will not leave us
In our time of need
You said You would lift us up
If we would just believe.
| This poem was written for my mother as a song. It was a prayer of faith after my mom fell ill suddenly and the doctors held out little hope for her recovery. I knew my faith in God and the way she had raised me to believe could raise her out from her coma and take her off that respirator. I am glad to report my mom is now at home and once again, God has shown me what faith in Him can do. |

AN ANNIVERSARY PRAYER FOR MOM AND DAD
God blessed me with great parents
They loved me from the start
Raised on a farm near Kentland
I know my place was in their hearts.
After 68 years of marriage
The love in their heart remains
The ups and downs of life's events
With all the aches and pains.
I cherish all my days with them
The memories we have made
The dinners and the laughter
Those times will never fade.
Dad's ears can barely hear these days
Mom's eyes can hardly see
But somehow they communicate
Though they don't always agree.
God bless these two great parents
On this anniversary date
Hold a special place for each of them
When they reach your Golden Gate.
Please give them peace in the days ahead
And let them never suffer
Because I love them more than life
My Father and My Mother.

THE REASON YOU ARE YOU!
You are who you are for a reason
You're a part of an intricate plan
You're a precious and perfect unique design
Called God's special woman
You look like you look for a reason
Our God made no mistake
He knit you together within the womb
You're just what he wanted to make
The parents you had were the ones he chose
And no matter how you may feel,
They were customed-designed with God's plan in mind
And they bear the Master's seal
No---That trauma you faced was not easy
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it allowed him to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow
You are who you are for a reason
You've been formed by the Master's rod
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God.

THE BEST DAY EVER!
This is the day I've prayed for
The day I wanted to come
Lord, I said I want nothing more
Than to stand ~ to sit ~ to walk some
Lord, it's lonely in the bed in there
They stop in to say hi or wake me up
I can't see outside; I have time to spare
Lord I love you ~ please fill my cup
Give me joy and a sense of peace
That comes from your word as I seek your face
I praise you Lord! You have given me the feast
I made my food! I sat in my place!
I'm tired now Lord, but oh! what a day.
I bathed myself and fed our pets
I felt no loneliness, I read, I prayed
OH LORD! YOU GAVE ME THE BEST!

THE TWO PATHS
Before him were two paths…
He stood pondering on which one to take.
One path was dark, filled with loneliness and despair;
While the other was Light…Goodness and Mercy waited there.
Which path to follow would be only his choice to make;
It would determine the life of which he would partake.
His family kept calling to him from the path filled with Light;
“Come now…Come this way…Everything will be alright”
He turned from his family and from the Light,
He began to look into the darkness, which filled the night.
A voice from the darkness began calling to him…
“Come to me… Don’t go to the Light…
Come to me…Come to me tonight”
“I’ll give you drugs, money and alcohol to drink.”
Then the smiling dark face, gave him a wink.
“On my path only for yourself, you will live…
No concern for anyone, will you need to give.”
Looking back at his family who waited in the Light;
He shrugged his shoulders as he headed into the night.
His family cried and prayed for him over the years,
But he was unable to care about all their shed tears.
Choosing the dark path…he now finds himself alone…
And for his life…only he can atone.
He sits in a jail cell…filled with despair,
His spirit, mind and body broken, in need of repair.
Family and friends unable to give him aid…
For his life is the result of choices, only he has made.
Who can restore him, and fix his broken life?
Who can lift his head, and deliver him from his strife?
The One who had planned for him, to walk in Light…
His Heavenly Father…He’s the One…
Who can make things right.

TENDERLY, NOW!
From Heaven on high came the gift
that sets the world aglow~
A beautiful baby girl with bouncy yellow curls
More heaven you'll never know...
Smiles, and hugs always there to soothe your heart,
If you thought you had happiness before, it will
Just now start!
When she was just an infant, she was the most
beautiful thing, but wait, there's more~
If you think she's perfect, my friend, you have much,
much more in store...
A little girl to tickle your funny bone, and tell you stories,
That must have come from Heaven above via the morning glories!
Okay, now, she's ten, and she's glory to behold~
If you think you heard it all, she's got a lot to be told...
A bike ride, and won't you come along,
And as you are riding, she teaches you a new song!
Then, one day, she's all of sixteen, and she falls in love~
Beautiful always, but her wonderous eyes are blue as the sky above...
She asks you things and answer you must, but you must be right,
Or this fanciful, lovely creature might grow wings and take flight!
She went to school as all little ones do~
And she made you feel that all her effort was just to please you...
At her studies, she did well and, of course, excelled,
And, like wax, into a beautiful young woman, she did meld!
One day, she married, and the magic is far from gone~
She love you too, but she has her own home...
And you are welcome, but keep your ground,
And she'll treat you to the most wonderful meal around!
Ah, yes, the magic of a little girl is something to see~
A little bit of the fairy's magic for you and me...
She grows up so beautifully but, yet so fast,
But she makes you feel sure that on her love list, you're not last!

WHO LIVES ALONE
"She lives alone" I heard him say.
Who sadly cast a glance my way.
"It must be hard, when day is done,
To set the table just for one.
What does she do when twilight falls,
All alone within those walls?
It is a shame she's missing out,
On what the world is all about."
I paused a moment in surprise,
Then turned and gazed into his eyes,
And felt a pang of sympathy,
For those who LOOK but do not SEE.
Within each soul God puts a spark
Of purest hope that lights the dark,
And in each life however small,
The faith to muddle through it all.
Within each heart He does abide,
However forms and features hide
The patient strength His hands bestow,
Upon us mortals here below.
Who lives alone should never be
The object of one's sympathy,
For moments worth their weight in gold,
Are often ours to have and hold.
To reach the door and turn the key,
And know He's waiting there for me,
With time for thought and time for prayer,
How light the burdens that I bear.
And though I set a place for one,
He's with me 'til the meal is done,
And evermore and constantly,
I have the Lord for company.
