A COWBOY PSALM

Dear God, only You know when I’ll reach the end of my trail,
So I want you to know I’m grateful.
A hundred times I’ve been thrown by life
And a hundred times You’ve lifted me back in the saddle.
Every morning I see Your smile in the sunrise over the prairie
And taste Your breath in the sage on the wind.
You put the aches in my bones at sunset to remind me that I’m still alive,
And the stars in the midnight sky to keep me humble.
I know that You love me.
When I’ve thirsted You’ve been my drink
And Your words have been my bread.
You catch me when I tangle my spurs,
You keep me from taking the crooked path.
You gave Your Son for my immortal soul.
And I know, Lord, that when I am judged
You won’t care how long I stayed on–
But how well I rode.

GOD'S GIFT TO ME!

I woke up this morning to the sound of gloom
And I heard fairy laughing at me-I was sitting on a mushroom...
And the hummingbirds flitted around my head,
And they had smiles on their faces and my face turned red!

How could I spend a day like this, a day that my Heavenly Father had made
A day that He sent to me-with which His pain He paid...
Could I possibly go around all day, with my heart in a self made sling,
When all I had to listen a while and I'd hear the angels sing!

I looked up from where I was, and the sun was shining bright
The flowers were blooming extra great, and suddenly everything was right...
Bluebonnets were everywhere, atop the hill and down in the valleys below,
And deep in my heart such happiness spread, that my cheeks began to glow!

He sent a rainbow way up in the sky, and I knew for sure, it was for my pleasure
And my heart swelled with love for Him, that no one could begin to measure...
So, when your day starts out to be blue, stop a while and breathe really deep,
And think of how great our Heavenly Father is, and you'll have no need to weep!

SAFE HAVEN

And in the midst of my confusion, present in the affairs of ones life, I found solace there at the Safe Haven so many before me had come to admire. Where I would often go to pay homage to its beauty, only jealous to know I do not share its beauty alone. It was on that particular day I began to hear her voice, whispering in the soft wind. And should I hear of her travels, and triumphs her legacy and her love for what she created. And day after day I would visit the vision in my mind, in my heart. Now she alone takes me home, the place that I search for, so like the Safe Haven known to so many. And with her to follow me through life, could I ever love any one again. And through the many years that I visited this place, my face, now showing its age with weather beaten brow, I waited, and on that day she appeared. And I felt in her the vision planted like a seed in my brain, I saw what life could be, should be, and as I gazed upon her further, her voice. Judge me not wayward son for my travels are many and I have not finished my journey, but stay close, hold my hand. For our journey ends together, and the home you have searched for awaits you.

COULD WE, COMBINE THE TWO?

If you were wind and I were fire
Could we combine the two and make hot passion desire?

If you were day and I were night,
could we combine the two and make sweet lovin' right?

If you were the stars and I were the sun,
could we combine the two to make sweet lovin' fun?

If you were the pale and I were the wire,
could we, combine the two and climb higher,
and higher to reach our destined desire?

If you were the water and I were the ice,
could we combine the two to make sweet lovin' nice?

If you were the grass and I were the trees,
could we combine the two and make love on our knees?

If you were the rain and I were the snow,
could we combine the two and kiss each other from head to toe?

And away we would go into the sea of desire,
so full of hot passion-fire!

DOES GOD LIKE COLORED EGGS?

I've got a little question
and I have to know just why
We celebrate on Easter
by dipping eggs in dye

Easter is a time to pray
remembering the Lord above
So why the Easter Bunnies
and colored eggs, My Love

I'm searching for the answer
cause it don't make sense to me
Does God have little Bunnies
and colored eggs for "He"?

If this is God's great passion
then what will be - will be
I'll put some dye in water
and color some eggs for me!

HOW TO SUCCEED

when you've tried everything. failures all you see.
though Jesus Christ, there are endless possibilities.
if you apply God's rule.
your imagination can become your reality.
remember! anything is possible.
give God the problem, and he'll do the rest.
you + God = success

JUST ONE

All my life I have felt a need of something significant
I could never quiet seem satisfied with what I had
Although seeming to be blessed beyond measure
My heart knew that a huge piece was missing
Stores did not have it, so this could not be bought
I looked everywhere, searching high and low
Trying different people, places, things, and religions
Still, nothing filled this empty space inside
Wondering if I would ever find the missing 'peace'
I gave up... and that is when it happened!
The 'one' I had been seeking for with everything in me
The completion that fills every single void I once had
Making me whole, happy, and full of life everlasting
Can be yours too, ONLY through JESUS CHRIST!!!

You can find him if you search for him, and it is a free gift
to you. He died for you... he already paid the price!!!
John 3:16 says that "For God so loved the world that he gave
his only begotten son, that whosoever should believe in him
should not perish but have everlasting life!!!

He whispers through the soft winds blowing
Shades you from summers heat under the trees
Warms you with sunshine, and cleanses with rain
Gives you his word, and when you bow your knees...
Call upon him, and you will receive!! Jesus loves you!!!

THE DAY AMERICA CRIED
Sept. 11, 2001

Heavens' doors must have opened wide
to let so many in.
America's surely weeping.
What a sad day this has been.

On that tragic morning
there was no way to have known
When the airplanes left the airport
the flight course to be flown.

So many lives were taken
many more forever changed,
by the suicidal mission
of evil minds so deranged.

How can people be so creul?
Only God alone can know.
What makes some peoples' heart so cold,
and their morals sink so low.

How can they feel a victory
brought on by so much pain?
There is no cause that's worthy
No matter what's to gain.

For in the end they'll reap
the evil they have sown,
the day they set the course for
those airplanes to be flown.

One day they'll stand in judgement
with God upon the throne,
and be required to give account
for the flight course that was flown.

Then all their pleas for mercy
one by one will be denied,
when they have to pay the price for
The Day America Cried.

furies of the storm,
winds scream, water surges,
cutting off hope,
can't get out, nowhere to go.
destruction comes like an avenging angel.
city of sin, innocents pay the price.

aftermath---
dead man lies on a bridge,
lovingly shrouded in madonna blue,
that's all his loved ones can do,
turn his face away
from the horror that was his home.
loved ones lost,
father from child,
where can the children go?
Humanity Street is in flood....
storm is gone, death is everywhere,
boats come in, who is left to seek help.
heartache, anguish, "where are you?!"
no home left, destitute.
to rely on the help of strangers
is all that's left for one to do.
to rebuild, an insurmountable task,
"Lord, can we do what you ask?"
A nation sheds its tears
as we face our fears.
"Physician, heal thyself"
mighty nation brought down
by a storm, an 'act of God'
to humble a union
too proud by far.

THE PAINTED VALLEY

It is snowing. It is dark and gloomy.
I feel lost and all alone. Frightened and dismayed.
My heart is full of sorrow and pain.
My world has been torn apart. My soul feels dead.
My mind never shuts down.
Instead it whirls around like a dirty garbage strewn alley
caught in a whirlwind that I have no control over.
No sleep, no peace, no quiet moments.
I pray to God to please pull me out of this dark
drug infested tunnel where I can no longer exist.
Please Lord, please give me back my life.

Through the snow filled clouds a pink haze falls across the valley.
The sun is not to be seen but the soft pink haze tells me that God is near.
It tells me that his outstretched hand is reaching out to me.
I grasp it and hang on. He pulls me out and frees me of this evil pit and sets me on solid ground.
The pink haze lingers for a few moments longer and slowly dissapears
replacing it with the darkness of nightfall.
However it is not a dark, sad night.
It is the Lord holding me close and warm in his comforter of love and understanding.
He will set me free when I am once again strong and ready to move forward to my freedom from
drugs, alcohol and the pain they have caused me and my loved ones.
But he will never leave my side as I ask him to walk with me daily.
Tommorow I will feel satisfied and strong.
I will be happy.
I will laugh again.
And I will never forget to pray and give thanks to Father God
through his son Jesus Christ for the pink haze that made me see
clearly once again.
I will make it with God the father forever at my side
and the Holy Spirit forever in my heart.

HANDS

There are all kinds of hands.
Old hands, big hands, little hands,
long hands, short hands, thick hands.
Wrinkled hands, callused hands, crafted hands, working hands,
rich hands, poor hands, well hands, sick hands,
strong hands, crippled hands, greedy hands, needy hands,
thieving hands, begging hands, great hands, caring hands.
There are Mother's hands, caring hands.
There are Father's hands, guiding hands.
Lifting hands, gentle hands,
playing hands, showing hands.
Loving hands, nursing hands,
There are growing hands.
Story telling hands, Kind lifting hands,
Bread making hands, Home building hands,
Cookie making hands, Cloth sewing hands,
Wood working hands, Toy fixing hands,
Smooth hands, Teaching hands,
Rough hands, Example hands.
Old, new, big, small, wrinkled, callused, strong, gentle,
wealthy, needy, healthy, sick, smooth, rough, leading,
teaching, reaching, loving, holding, preaching, praying

MOTHERS
Daughter of Mother Earth
Symbol of all life

She bore us in pain… as she cried with joy
Laboured to deliver us… girl and boy
She took us in her arms… the cosmic embrace
And filled our eyes… with the light in her face

She fed us at the breast of love… milk of living kindness
Taught us her wisdom… to save us from our blindness
She suffered our agonies… in silence to nurture
One can search for love… a real love, a true love

Like the merciful compassion… of an angel from above
We seldom find it anywhere… in lover or in friend
Only a mother's heart will… endure unto the end
Daughters become mothers… the cycle to repeat

Mothers to grandmothers… in time to retreat
Death may take her from us… but she is always there
In the Great Beyond… her spirit is everywhere
A love so all embracing… what can I say to show

Is there a greater joy, a heart can ever know?
In a world of constant change… one thins is sure to stay
A mother's love remains forever…
…Happy Mother's Day

MY ISSUES OF LOVE

In his hands, I'm forced to trust,
A love I crave, an unyielding must.

When I'm in his arms I want to say,
All the things I felt that day.

And when we part, I sit and think,
I feel I'm there, just on the brink.

I try to read into his eyes,
But his masterful skills could hide
his lies

But just what if, he's real and true,
Perhaps my life partner I have no clue

All I know is I'm consumed,
to play this out either life or doom

To take the chance just one more time,
To always be his and he be mine

Day to day I watch and wait,
While falling in love and tempting fate.

I WANT TO GO WHERE EVER HE MAY BE

I would like to be at the foot of the cross
To see His wonderful face of gloss.
I would like to see David as he threw the stone,
Just to fill what he felt, knowing he was not alone.
I would like to have been there when the Devil tried to make Paul renounce his faith in the Lord;
But to see him keep on going with his shield and sword.
The Devil tries to put us at peril,
As he did Daniel, but the Lord sent an Angel which I'm sure made Daniel sing a carol.
The Lord is sufficient to me,
That is why I want to go where ever He may be.

FRIEND

I am here with you now my friend
I love the time I spend upon this earth
I enjoy the comfort of your presence
But someday I will have to leave
Your love has brought us together
Your heart has shown me true love
I only hope that in return
I have given you the same
Don't cry when I do leave
For I will see you soon after
I will be at the pearly gates
And I will soon thereof
Be walking on streets of gold
I will meet you there
By that beautiful tree of life
My heart will always be with you
But on that special day, My Friend
You will be with me forever
