Gingerbread Cookies
This recipe also makes enough for one gingerbread house.

2/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
3/4 tsp cloves

Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in egg and molasses.

Stir together dry ingredients. Add to butter mixture.

Roll out 1/4-inch thick and cut into gingerbread shapes.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 6-8 minutes or until edges are golden. Cookies will harden after cooling.
