"The Lake Nipigon Basin Signature Site Ecological Land Use and Resource Management Strategy". 426 page document ion the MNR site as a PDF file.) The Lake Nipigon Basin (see map) was identified as one of nine Featured Areas (also known as Signature Sites) in the Ontario’s Living Legacy Land Use Strategy (July 1999), and is recognized as having a range of highly significant natural and cultural values that warrant special strategies. The Lake Nipigon Basin also has very significant tourism and recreation potential that merits enhanced planning and management. |
