The Pease family photo album captured a moment in history and provided us with a rare set of photos. Jack McKirdy was a well known local outfitter who was famous for arranging fishing trips on the Nipigon for the Gentlemen anglers of the day.

Even more rare are the photos of the native guides. Joe Wadow built birch bark canoes and reportedly provided them, through Jack McKirdy, to the Dr. Cook party for his famous trip in 1915.

Chief Salt had been hired by Jack McKirdy to guide the heir to the English throne, Edward, Prince of Wales in 1919 for his historic trip on the 'Nepigon'.

Niel McDougall was well known as a local guide and a significant member of the Prince's party.
