AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil is designed to provide maximum benefits in gasoline-fueled engines. It meets or exceeds the following specifications:

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil combines the outstanding performance characteristics of synthetic oil with the economy of conventional petroleum oil. The formulation includes the most advanced synthetic base stocks, carefully selected petroleum base stocks and state-of-the-art additive systems. AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 is an excellent choice for long, dependable, economical service. It provides superior lubrication, reduces engine wear, improves fuel economy and reduces engine temperatures.

Resists High Temperature Vaporization

AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 resists high temperature vaporization for reduced oil consumption. Conventional petroleum oils contain a combination of light and heavy hydrocarbons. The extreme heat in an engine can vaporize the light hydrocarbons and reduce the volume by weight of a conventional oil by 25 percent to leave behind a thick, heavy oil. Surpassing the ACEA/CCMC NOACK Volatility Test, AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 loses only 9.4 percent of its volume by weight due to vaporization.

Resists Oxidation and Thermal Breakdown

AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 resists oil breakdown from heat, blow-by chemicals and oxygen up to ten times longer than do conventional oils. AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 inhibits the formation of varnish deposits and sludge. It doesn't thicken like conventional oils, but continues to cool and lubricate for peak engine performance and improved fuel economy. In addition, the advanced heat transfer capabilities and high lubricity of AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 reduce operating temperatures of engines, transmissions and gear boxes, so they run cooler, cleaner and longer.

Provides Low Temperature Protection

AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 remains fluid at temperatures as low as -43ºC (-45ºF). AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 permits easy engine cranking for fast starts, and it flows to all engine parts much faster than conventional oil does. The outstanding low temperature lubricating properties of AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 reduce engine wear and increase engine life.

Resists Deposit Formation

Because AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40's unique formulation resists oxidation so well, it runs cleaner than conventional oils run. AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 has a superior detergent/dispersant additive package that keeps the engine clean and effectively holds deposits in suspension until they can be filtered out. AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40's ability to keep engines clean makes it suitable for long drain intervals.

Prevents Rust and Corrosion

AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 contains powerful rust and corrosion inhibitors to protect engine components from the destructive effects of water and acids.

MIXING AMSOIL

AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil is compatible with conventional petroleum and other synthetic lubricants; however, mixing AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 with a conventional oil will shorten the extended drain period of AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40. Engine oil additives or after-market products are not necessary, nor recommended, for use with AMSOIL Semi-Synthetic 10W-40.

SERVICE LIFE

Personal car and light-duty trucks with non-turbocharged gasoline engines: drain oil at intervals up to two times longer than those recommended by the engine manufacturer, or one year, whichever comes first. When an AMSOIL Oil Filter is used, change oil filter at intervals of 12,500 miles or six months, whichever comes first. When other brands of oil filters are used, change filters at the intervals recommended by the engine manufacturer.
